2024 Cadillac CT6 Unveiled In China With Escala Styling, 33-Inch Screen
    It's only offered with a 2.0-liter engine.
Cadillac ended production of the CT6 for the US market in early 2020 but the luxobarge remained on sale in China. Large sedans equipped with combustion engines are still relevant in the world's second-most populous country, so much so it's getting a sequel. Meet the 2024 CT6, now with a fresh look inside and out. Without going into specifics, Cadillac says it rides on an "improved rear-wheel-drive platform" with an ideal 50:50 weight distribution.
The exterior takes after the stunning Escala concept from the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. While it can't match the presence and pizzazz of the showcar, it is a handsome car in a sea of crossovers and SUVs, such as the new Cadillac GT4 also reserved for China. Proportions have not been significantly modified as the second-gen model is 5223 millimeters (205.6 inches) long, 1890 mm (74.4 in) wide, and 1473 mm (58 in) tall.
The fullsize premium sedan is touted as having a segment-leading wheelbase of 3109 mm (122.4 in), which perfectly matches that of its predecessor. That tells us the 2024 CT6 isn't an all-new product but rather an evolution of first-generation model by utilizing an updated Omega platform. Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine linked to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Since it's sitting at the top of the food chain in China, the 2024 Cadillac CT6 is brimming with technology. Aside from the already familiar 33-inch screen, it also gets Super Cruise, Magnetic Ride Control (4.0), and a digital rearview mirror. On the flip side, it can only be had with a small four-cylinder engine, a far cry from the mighty Blackwing of the US-spec CT6-V in which the twin-turbo V8 made 550 horsepower. This 2.0-liter has less than half, at just 233 hp.
Cadillac is charging RMB 359,700 ($50,800) for the base CT6 and RMB 469,700 ($66,300) for the flagship trim. For your money's worth, you can get the large sedan with a Renaissance Red interior as an alternative to Jet Black and Whisper Beige. The posh cabin has 26-color ambient lighting, AKG speakers, knurling textured and warm metallic accents, along with open pore dark ash wood.
The new CT6 goes on sale later this year in China together with the aformentioned GT4 and the revised XT4.

Cadillac does not " belong here in America ".Its an American brand but its loyalty is to China, it follows where the money is. Majority of Americans are destitute living from pay check to pay check. America is the land of the poor, the dispossessed, the exploited. Do not kid yourself, there is no " making America great again ".

@@lordblackwood4417 The one American car we need in America. Large American luxury sedan. The only changes it needs are a V8 engine and replacing all Chinese texts with English ones. If GM can import the Buick Envista and Envision from China to America, they can definitely do the same for the CT6. After all, it is made by them, just under a different brand.

I will never by a GM again. I had a 2008 Cadillac XLR PLATINUM that they quit making parts for in 2012. The only headlight assembly available was on EBay for $6,500. Sold it 12/25/19 with 26,000 miles. Bought a 2019 Dodge Charger R/T with the cash from the XLR and I love it. It will out run that XLR for 1/3 the price and parts are still available, for years.

As an American that just had to get rid of his 2019 CT6-V Blackwing with only 36k miles on it because there were no more parts available, due to discontinuation, to do a simple transmission repair and also the fact that the engineering team for tech support was completely dissolved, I find this pathetic, infuriating, and most of all offensive that this would be available in the Chinese market and not here in the USA. Those wheels are horrific as well. Ridiculous.

Guess I'll just be getting the CT6 Platinum with the 3.0TT. That was my fear that they would not have parts available. Completely crazy not to have a surplus of parts available. My original plan was to buy a spare engine and transmission and have it sitting until I needed it. I'm the future lol

We Americans Don't deserve Something like this. We American don't know how to appreciate the simple thing in life like a Luxury 4 Door Sedan. We Americans are selfish and greedy. We Americans wanted SUV's and Crossovers. So Ford, GM and Dodge said, We're not going to make 4 door Sedans anymore for the American market because Americans won't buy then. But when another country like China gets what we wouldn't buy, Then All of a sudden you wish they'd sell it in the states. Stop Crying Americans. You made your bed. Now Sleep in it. But I agree. Those Wheels are terrible.

Exactly. They did sell the CT6 for a couple of years. Chrysler's 300 was the last full size American sedan. There are no sedans of any size left except the ct4 & 5 and the 4 is on the chopping block.

    • @peteramura
      @peteramura 8 months ago

The bean countess in GM looked at the declining buyer sentiment (and frankly, car sales) for large American-made sedans and cut. I recently bought one of those rare CT6s - the 2017 PHEV and do not (yet) regret it. GM was under the leadership of a German who was in the same groove as the current rounds of Beamers and Benzes coming out of Berlin. ThebGM Board decided to take a different tack in 2019 and as of 2024 are seeing the results.
The good thing is that manufacturing tech can switch on the fly, and things can change quite quickly. GM has decided to bring back a line of PHEVs by 2027. So my hopes are high. Let’s see if the CT6 is a phoenix. I do hope so. The CT6 Blackwing-V was a smoking hot car, and is worth a look.

Even Cadillac didn't remove the necessary physical knobs and buttons. It's always the Axis power that tries to do something unique or stupid and fails eventually.

I would like to know the performance specs, and then get to buy either it of the Taurus that they still make and sell in Asia. I don't want an SUV, I want a trunk I can conceal 3 bodies in.

General Motors needs to bring this back to us market with a v8 model and price it to sell and they will make so much money people didn’t want to pay almost 100k in the us when they could buy a bmw or a Mercedes for that price no one likes the ct5 they need to discontinue the ct5 and bring back the ct6 in the us
