I will only say this once... THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! A nice lady GAVE me this X300 mower and I always like to remove the deck and inspect everything. You sir, are GREATLY APPRECIATED! -- Some random guy in North Central Florida 8.27.2023
Fantastico! Only after buying my X500 7 years ago, have I just learned how to efficiently remove the deck without wanting to put my head in a vice. Thank you, sir.
@@greendiamondequipment, this is my go to video every year! Can you put up a video on adjusting the spring nut on the right front that assists with the lifting effort? It feels like it's never adjusted properly.
HI; you included a step that all the others did not include! The step where you release the tension to the rear hanger and then you add, pull the peddle toward the rear and lock it further. Saved me after hours of frustration. Thank you.
I appreciate the tutorial on removing this deck. I bought an X350 48" last year and will need to remove the deck for maintenance. TY MH There are two big tips as I saw it.... raise lift arms out of the way and turn front wheels for clearance to roll out. thanks.
Great video. I’ve removed the deck many times and never thought about rotating the wheels to roll the deck out easier. Great tip! Thanks for sharing. You have a new Subscriber. 😁👍
Thank you for your 'to the point' video! With no history of ride on mowers, I was able to follow along and remove/install the deck with no issues on an old x500.
I usually have a hard time pulling out those U pins on my X390, they always seem to catch something and won't come out all the way. There are these little bumps on the pins that are hard to get past the lift arms....I must be doing something wrong? Good video.
I agree too, poor engineering for that part. The side with the spring is too short and can not be pulled out all of the way. Also need to put a note on the mower deck settings to lower the lowest position in order for the lift pedal to work.
Have you done a vid for the newer 500 series, specifically the 580, 84 and 90? With the larger wheels the decks don't slide out so easily. I really wish JD had made them with a little longer wheel base.
Excellent video. I just bought a older x500 and have to remove the deck. Your video will make it much easier. I need to insp. the deck. When I engage it it makes a higher pitched noice than it used to. Any ideas on what to look for? It does have a mulching kit installed Thank
Well-made video. I grew up in New Brunswick and have lived in Kentucky since I was 18 (1996!), and I appreciate that lawn & garden equipment is shared in common from coast to coast! :~D I don't suppose you went on and recorded a How-To for changing that deck belt, did you? I can't seem to find one on RUclips. :~/
I have a 2015 x590 which has the hydraulic lift. Will I still need to lift up on the deck raising lever to lock the pedal before removing the pins? Or can I skip this step? My instruction manual is a bit confusing. Thank you.

Thank you so much!! I just got the deck off of a mower I’ve had for 10 years for the very first time ever!! Could not have done it without you!
Best / clearest video I've seen on how to do this
Fantastico!

Anthony. Thanks for the video on mower deck removal. It helps me feel more confident.
Awesome video! Raising the lift arms back up after everything is disconnected is the key to sliding it out with ease. Thank you!👍🏻
We are so happy the video was helpful!

Excellent video, good camera shots, and complete step-by-step "how to."

Very instructive and good camera angles. Thank you
Great video . Gonna pull mine off as soon as wife gets done cutting grass!!!!! Thanks
Great video. Good camera angles. Great job!
That was perfect! That’s exactly what I was looking to do!
Great video. I’ve removed the deck many times and never thought about rotating the wheels to roll the deck out easier. Great tip! Thanks for sharing. You have a new Subscriber. 😁👍
This is so well done.
Thanks, got to go help my dad change blades on his x580. He's 91 and wants to get out there mowing.
I hope that your father is 92 now, and still mowing!
Well done video. I have a JD X534 and today I'm pulling the deck for her spring cleaning. I always look for videos on how to remove deck.
I just bought the X590 and yes that does look easy, awesome demo
Perfectly explained and illustrated. Thank you very much!
This is a great supplement to the X500 owners manual. Each are good, but together they are perfect.
We are so glad that you found it helpful!
Thank you sir! I always forget a step and end up frustrated.
Great video. Will save me some frustration.
Awesome video. I’ve never taken it off before. I usually pay johndeere to do the service. Not anymore 😁

Just bought a new X570, thanks for the deck removal tips!

Wonderful! So glad the video was a help!
Please do a video on how to attach 48inch snow blade on X500.
Having trouble connecting lift arm doesn’t reach.
Thanks
Note leveling shim should be inside Deck Height Knob.

@@dwayneclark3502 Back the nut off that holds the spring on a turn or two and it will give you more room .
thanks, for the video.. can you please do a video on how to replace the belt.. thank you

Spindle wear and grease. Make sure blades arent bent or contacting the deck housing. Could also be a bad pully

We don't have one on changing the deck belt, but will look into doing one. Thanks for the suggestion!
How do I replace my tension spring on my x 540?
Wish it was that easy!

No you will not have to lock the pedal as the X590 has hydraulic lift and no spring assist. Hope that helps.
@@greendiamondequipment thank you !
Any difference with hydraulic deck lift?
Not for me. Just need to start the JD to raise the deck.
Thanks man
My X300 is pre-2016, is a 42" deck and much of this video, while helpful, is not accurate.
