I am a bit if a Trekkie and would be interested in 4K versions of STNG, Enterprise, Voyager and deep space 9. I tried to like Discovery but could not warm to it.
I ordered 4 K of strange new works from Amazon UK and am expecting it tomorrow
@@Gothic55 👍Yah I completely agree, I also hated Discovery & think it’s the worst Star Trek ever created LOL! 😅 I can’t stand how weepy😭 almost every episode of Discovery is & how it’s written intentionally to be overly dramatic & feels very contrived! 🙄

Glad to see this was worth waiting for. I had the blu-ray version pre-ordered, but then they announced the 4K release just in time to cancel that and wait for this 4K version. Glad I did so. Loved the series when I watched it on streaming, but the cinematography is worthy of much higher quality and I knew I needed a physical media release. Picard Season 3 on 4K next, please!

Honestly, this may be the highest score I've seen you give something. I can't wait for my copy to arrive. I couldn't get myself to watch Picard Season 2 after seeing season 1. But I hear Season 3 is good so maybe I'll give that one a go.

@@MyFireVideos 🖖Then if your equipment’s calibrated you will be absolutely blown away by Star Trek SNW 4K Dolby Vision image & if you love how this looks Halo is just as amazing looking 4K quality! There is some light sensual content in SNW but nothing too extreme & it’s miles better than Discovery on every single level! I’m not a fan of ST Discovery at all & I think it’s very contrived, overly dramatic & does NOT feel like classic Star Trek! But on the positive side ST Strange New Worlds is everything I love about classic Star Trek & is just such a joy to watch!👌
@In Search of Physical Media I'm really excited to see it. I've watched your SNW 4K like 5 times already today. Yes, my TV got calibrated by value electronics, so I've been enjoying that. I also got the Spears and Munsil disc to try things on my own. I have a Sony A8H OLED 65" and a Sony 950H 85". I've been enjoying the Panasonic UB820 thanks to your recommendation. I also have the Sony X700 and X800M2 which have done mostly fine.
They Nailed it with him as Captain the 4k is amazing
It was the best thing to come out of Star Trek since 05 until Picard season 3 was released!

Is this a test or was Discovery and Picard filmed differently as to why they were not released in 4K? Thanks to you I did not pick up the Blu-ray of SNW waiting for the standard 4K release as I was not impressed with the art work on the steel book thought it was a little lazy and boring for the extra price and I did not find it in any stores Tuesday
Got my 4k steelbook a few days ago. Loved watching it on Paramount+, but I cannot wait to rewatch in 4k. Your review has me even more hyped now.
SNW has been a wonderful combo of TOS nostalgia combined with the sense of TNG character development Trek! I can’t wait for the next season! I wasn’t willing to wait for the UHD BD and “settled” for the standard BD, but it looks fabulous!

I thought this show was pretty damn good. This and Picard Season 3 kind of were the signpost for the current era of Trek having outgrown its growing pains. (Just like TNG Season 3 was back in 1989/1990). Although I do find it kind of hilarious that all the actors seem to have the physique of a Greek statue 😅
Fantastic show and I can't wait for season 2 and that planned crossover.
Also between their Blu-Ray and 4K releases (both the shows and recent movie remasters) Paramount/ CBS is currently proving themselves to be the king of physical media. Fox used to be up there as well, but I haven't purchased anything since the Disney Takeover, so I can't judge whether this has changed.
Paramount has been very protective and steadfast in their treatment of Trek, and Mission: Impossible. New Nurse Chapel is amazing. Discovery does deserve more love.

Can you review both the Blu-ray and DVD sets for the TV show "Transformers: Prime"? I'm curious about the quality differences between the two formats.
Dude, have mercy on me, you really drain my wallet. I just spent 90 Euro for the UHD-Discs of Star Trek SNW Season 1 and The Last of us Season 1 just because of your reviews. ;) . Oh, and i pre-ordered titanic, too.
What I find peculiar, though, is that Star Trek SNW only comes on 3 UHD discs, while TLoU has UHD discs and HD blu rays - for the same price. However, Star Trek has a flippable cover (we have those HUGE age rating logos in Germany, so flippable covers with the original artwork are nice) while TLOU doesn't. Well, it has one, but on the backside there is different artwork and a list of content.
I am hoping that these 4K releases will do well enough for them to justify remastering Deep Space Nine and Voyager at last. I’m not sure if that would be possible, but I would be first in line to pre-order both of them.
Can you make a video explaining how to "professionally calibrate" one's tv? Explain different tv stuff?

Will they release Discovery in 4K? They should have done it to begin with. The lights are even better. I hate when 4K focuses too much on black.
I'd be surprised if The Original Series and The Next Generation were released on 4K. TNG did so bad on blu that they didn't think about remastering DS9 and VOY. I'd rather see DS9 and VOY in HD before TOS and TNG in 4K.

Off the subject just a bit, but I can’t seem to find your cheers bluray review?
I picked this up but I am getting some wild bit rate fluctuations. Take episode one, I will have a bit rate that breaks 100 but then suddenly dips down to 20. It is creating a noticeable shifting quality in the image that is extremely distracting. Anyone else having this issue?
What 4K player/TV are you watching this 4K UHD on? The reason I ask is because I’ve received numerous reports that SONY 4K players & TVs have been having massive image fluctuations & playback issues with newer BD100’s & Dolby Vision content in general!

I bought the blu ray not even knowing there was going to be a 4K version.
As good as this looks I am not going to double dip.
At least not right now.
I hope Strange New Worlds does well on 4k that we do get more Trek shows in 4K. Out of the current shows i think Discovery is still the best one and that imo none of the other shows have been able to reach the level of Quality that Discovery has. I do hope that if they plan on more 4k releases that Discovery is one of the next releases.
