INDIAN TEAM took Revange of 0-4 Defeat to AUSTRALIA in 2011-12 BGT by 4-0 whitewash
India won the four match test series in a 4-0 whitewash to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. This was the first time Australia lost a test series 4-0.
In the first test Mahendra Singh Dhoni set the highest Score by an indian captain scoring 224 run. R Ashwin took 12 wickets in this test
In second test Murli Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara made a partnership of 370 runs which is the 2nd highest for india vs Australia just six runs shorter than famous Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman partnership.
The entire Australian team together could not score as many runs in both the innings as Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara scored in a partnership. Pujara made 204 whereas murli vijay scored 167.
In third test Shikhar Dhawan made his Debue and scored fastest century on debue. He made the record of scoring most runs on debut. Murli Vijay scored his 2nd test Hundred of the series. This was the first time both indian scored 150+
In the fourth test both opners Murli Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara scored half centuries and give india a century opening stand. But after this due to Nathan Lyon's carrier best performance with 7 wickets. But in the 2nd inning Cheteshwar Pujara's Brilliant inning of 82 not out took india to victory and indian team took the revange of 2011-12 Whitewash in Australia.
Murli Vijay becomes the highest run scorer of the series with 430 runs whereas Cheteshwar Pujara was the 2nd highest with 419 runs.
R Ashwin become the man of the series and highest wicket taker of the series with 29 wickets
Ravinder Jadeja with 24 wickets was the 2nd highest.
MS becomes the first and only captain till now who Whitewashed Australia.
