Greetings from Australia! It's been a delight to watch another new player get adjusted to The Isle. I hope you enjoy it! Some general Deinosuchus tips I've picked up over my game time that may help you if you decide to revisit the crocodile: - When swimming in open water (so your feet cannot be touching the ground), pressing Right Click will give you a small burst of speed at the cost of a small amount of stamina. - Using the above, if you aim yourself at the shore and right-click just before you reach it, you will keep some of your momentum! Useful for quickly escaping cannibal crocs, or ambushing someone when they are a few steps away from the water. - Holding the Alt key while swimming will allow you to move your camera without turning your dino, and prevent you from accidentally surfacing when you look around. - Your stamina drains VERY quickly on land! Be wary! - As a small croc, you are much faster on land than adults, and lose stamina more slowly. If an adult tries to grab you, escaping onto land is one of your best defenses - just mind your environment! Carnos and Ceratos will absolutely gobble up lil crocs. - Minimize the amount of time you spend at the surface. Everyone can hear your splashes, and other crocs will see the ripples you create even at a great distance. Staying low and quiet are your best tools to stay alive. - Holding Q while you are under water and not moving will extend the radius in which you can detect surface ripples (the blue particle effects you sometimes saw coming off fish and other crocs) which can alert you early if someone is crossing your river. - Deinosuchus is one of only 2 dinos that CAN eat bones! Bones give a very small bonus to all 3 nutrients when consumed by a Deino. Hope these help, sorry it's a lot of text. :) Good luck and happy hunting!
@@diags1095 Here's one more, idk if you found this out or not, since I haven't watched the whole video yet: Deino cannot throw up no matter what! Cerato's bile can't make it throw up, and it can over-eat infinitely without tossin'.
Some things to know: Stegosaurus can facetank (can absorb all hits and kill you easily) a Deinosuchus. Deinosuchus can drag a fullgrown carno underwater. Stego can almost oneshot an adult cera.
I meann if you could also get good hits on the stegos head it’s pretty easy to kill each other in a 1v1 usually the stego just runs on land when it gets too low though :(
The BEST possible advice for growing a stego is : spawn north west or centre, and find a bush next to some pumpkins and a river. Stegos food and water takes FOREVER to drain (around 40 minutes if you don’t move), so if you actually wanna have fun then just eat, drink, and sit in a bush afk, and do irl stuff as you grow, just play when you need to eat or drink and you’ll be adult in no time and won’t have to struggle with being a juvie
Tip having all 3 diet hexagons filled with 1 one of the shapes (one filled with the 3 hexagons, another with s and a 3rd with 2 lines) u get 50 percent growth boost :) nice videos btw love seeing ppl get into this game
And a other tip. Just remember it's humans controlling the dinosaur's so if you are in a jungle area they will be wayy more alert But if you find a open grassland you are more likely to find a dinosaur that takes more risks and that is what you want. I know it sounds weird but its actually true. When you are in the open you are taking risks. And the more you do the more bigger risks you take because you are getting more brave. A dinosaur in the jungle will be use to play it safe and wait for longer periods of time. But a dinosaur in the open... Will take wayy more risks because its living in a risky area.
When you hold Alt while swimming you can lock whichever depth you’re swimming. Great for underwater stealth swimming to look on land while swimming undetected.
To grow a stego I suggest spawn in the south to get the sumac a plant for your diet and stick to the trees as you travel Nw Ish to get to center for marigold then go further NW to find pumpkins but it’s actually safer to be in a group of baby stegos because the adults draw a lot of attention. But if you stick to the tree line as much as you can you won’t be spotted easily. And don’t 1 call unless you have to because it’s like ringing a dinner bell
i believe that u have "manual alt attacks" off in settings. If thats so then when u bite u will always do the alt attacks if u have stam, the bad thing is that this always drains your stamina. If u put manual on u can bite normally and not waste your stam and if u want to do an alt attack then hold alt key button and then the attack button. I believe this will help u a lot. :D
I would definitely say if you want to play Stego, now is the time to do it. Devs just recently confirmed recently that they will be removing Steg from official servers (similar to how Rex and Trike will only be available on community servers). Once the Stego gets updated, which could take a while who knows, it'll be removed from officials. Steg takes around the same time to grow as Dieno does . As for courting (aka breeding), for dienos, it needs to be done in the water, and both players need to be at least 75% grown. From there, press N on each other and a courting animation will start and you will be paired. Finding a place on land, press N again and you'll place the nest down. There are two types of nests. Sticks and Mud. Dienos have a stick nest. For that, once you place the nest down, use Scent to find bundle of sticks around and collect them. Depositing them on the nest will build it. With a mud nest, its incredibly simple. Once you place it, just keep holding B until the nest is completed. Dieno is the only dino with a requirement to be doing something to court.
@@SilverSabertooth That also might be true. I just know its somewhere around there, as you reach the adult stage at 75%. I rarely ever nest as there are very few people interested in it so I might be out of the loop.
I assume you knew what the waterdrop symbols is since it's mean water that you can drink, anyway croc can eat a rotten meat/bones. It also can grab other players that smaller than it by press right mouse and don't let go until it die or your stamina is nearly out.
And one more. Stay under water until you can't. Only come up when its important. It sounds boring but asoon as you catch a other dinosaurs by sacrificing your entertainment and wait and be patient and swim under water you will have wayy more fun. A crocodile is a ambush predator that can wait for hours under the water. Only after he eaten a meal he will go and relax. A crocodile can also go for months without food. So take that and move only under water asoon as you see a opportunity to come up where no other dinosaurs will see you then come up. Its super important to stay hidden. Just because you think no one is watching doesn't mean no one is watching a croc knows this more than anyone. So even if you see no dinosaurs don't come up and stay away from any croc that comes up more than needed he will give you up. Only when you need to breed take the risk to join a team
In the character tab, there is a 'group' button where you can see members of your group. The nametags disappear after they leave a certain range, but if they are still in group you can see them from the group tab no matter how far they are. If they are not in the group tab, they either left the group or died.
enjoyed the video but the ending was hard to watch lol, you should have went down fighting but also a bit of karma since you randomly killed that lil croc just earlier lol
deino tip: pay attention to whether you're heading upstream or downstream! if you don't, you'll end up going in circles. choose a direction and go that way!
As a Deino main, never fully trust a Deino. I mean, sometimes you might find a super nice player like myself who despise cannibalism, but it's common to find cannibals. ;P And remember that other dinos can see you if you ain't deep enough.
