- The most efficient Polestar 2 is supposed to be able to go 320 miles on a full charge. But can it get that range at highway speeds? Well, almost!

Nice improvement in efficiency!
I own this car and didn't ever range test until after about 1 year in. Never had it below 25% 99% of the time until then. I found out when you get to the bottom of the pack (last 10%) all of a sudden instead of getting 3 miles per 1% battery according to the dash I started getting 4 to 5 miles per 1%. It kept saying 280 to 320 miles range the whole time and ended up getting 350 miles and 5% battery life left. I also have driven plenty of times 200 miles with over 33% battery remaining. I always get over 300 highway in normal weather and apparently well into mid 300's with mixed driving. Extremely efficient car, dash actually over under estimates efficiency, and on top of that I believe I read when you get down to 0% you actually have 4kwh left in the battery usable as a buffer.
Excellent result by Polestar. EPA range is based on 55% :highway" and 45% "city driving" in a lab minus 30% to make it more relevant in the real world. If its almost all highway thats not a bad result. IMHO this car shines more on smaller roads where its so much fun to drive! At least in Europe the i4 is considerably more expensive. Dont wanna defend Polestar but
OK I wanna defend Polestar Swedish😂
Great test. I believe 75 kWh is usable from a search. Regardless, any figure approaching the 300 mile mark at 70 is impressive.
Nice review, thanks. What colour is this Polestar?
Thank you! I believe this one was Magnesium
There is no regen at 100% SOC, but the car seamlessly blends in friction braking whenever regen is not sufficient. I.e. it always applies as much regen as possible before blending in friction braking. This applies both when using OPD and when pressing the brake pedal. Most EV's, including Tesla does not do this.
Ahhh, smart! Thanks for the clarification
Hmm interesting test but i dont think anyone is ever going to see 3.9 miles/kwh in a polsetar 2 at 70mph. I think realistically you may be able to see 280 miles of range but 300+ seems like a stretch
I thought you could just press the temp number and hold down then it allows you to do 73* or the odds... LOL
Oh I didn't know that! Will have to try next time, thanks!
I think you need a fixed camera instead of the head mounted one. Way too much movement.
Had to fast forward through most of the video.
Do not buy EVs period
