All the other contestants are not even sad about Iam winning. They are happy with his win and joined him upstage. That is how much they love him. Loved watching this disney movie ending on a happy note. Love your guys' reaction too.
I think the fact that all of the other finalists shared in Iam's win shows what type of guy Iam is off-camera. The love he engendered in his native town of Kahuku, his home state of Hawaii, his fellow contestants and all those who fell in love with his gentle nature and heartwarming spirit was inspirational. All his performances today was about his family, his home, and his culture. Keith Urban was about his parents, Cool Down is a Hawaii jam about hanging at the beach with family, Monsters for his dad and that audition that went viral, His new Single about his dad, and his final song of Don't Let Go was a celebration with us all. Funniest part was after his single, when he was about to walk away, Ryan Seacrest was still talking and I saw Iam's facial reaction 😂😂😂. The best part was his celebration and the other finalists joining him on stage and celebrating together, was a feeling of ohana. They all started this journey together and all did well. It was a victory for all of us ❤ 🤙🏽Mahalo, Aloha and Ofa lahi atu kia mou tolu (love you all very much) Congrats, brother/braddah/tokoua Iam Tongi. Yessah!!!
I'm literally crying AGAIN just watching Iam win, this song, AND your joyful reaction. I jumped in the air, too. I swear and can't remember cheering for someone from day one and then to have him win!!! Thank you for bringing us your sweet and excited reactions. You helped make this American Idol season one for the ages.
Best American Idol in a long time - contestants, settings, arrangements and backup singers. All that was 100% first class.
There was an impromptu parade/convoy out here on the North Shore, (Oahu, Hawaii) that started about 3 minutes after the announcement and was still going 2 hours later!
Lines of cars, backed-up traffic, horns honking, fireworks, music blasting. We love our Kahuku Boy!
His duet with James Blunt was my favorite moment 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I loved him from his first audition 😭😭😭😭 I’m so proud of Iam ❤

Iam and Oliver were the only two who connected more during the whole season and Oliver definitely supported Iam to the end.

I will miss this season soooo much, the Iam Tongi show. I mean Kelly Clarkson has got her own talk show these days, I am hoping we will get an Iam Tongi show, where he gets to share his love, beautiful smile, heart, crazy soulful voice and his unique energies with all of us on a regular bases.
