That's the 2021 version correct. Did you have to do bench unlocking to install jB4? I'm assuming you like to do OTS tunes in the later future. I'm looking forward to seeing more content♥
Thank you appreciate it no i didn’t have to do anything it was plug and play when ecu tunes are out then we will have to do bench dme unlocks but no one is able to crack the dme

I’m going to be 100% honest with you jb4 install was hard because of two things routing the cable from the cabin to the engine bay is a bit of a struggle I had to rip a rubber piece off and squeeze it in with a couple other wires and the second hard thing is the Ewg cable I had to disconnect the whole intake because the plug was all the way on the bottom of the intake which is stupid but honest opinion 10000% worth the struggle time and money specially paired with a downpipe and soon intake and chargipe on map 5 with e30 mix it goes insane
@@alpinex5701 I got the first 2 JB4 wires on, that was pretty easy. The OBD2 I was looking where to route and it looks like a giant pain so I did the quick and easy, out the engine in through the driver door. My M3 had empty grommets in the firewall, it was still hard but doable. The EWG wire came today so I will attempt it later, also got a cone intake so I'll have the airbox off which will help getting to the EWG.
@@Scott0587 yes the intake will help for sure and the Ewg wire makes bit of a difference too specially when you start doing map 5 e30 mix it goes crazy but you need Ewg for it also what intake are you planning on throwing in there?
I used a BMS intake for the G30 5 series, it rubs on the G05 airbox but you can just put a piece of foam and it's perfect. Sounds great too. I ended up routing the OBD wire in the door gasket. Too much headache to do it through the firewall.
Is this with or withouth catless dp? I am looking at the jb4 for my x6 it's just I am hesitant going this route... I alwasy do ECU tune. Any ideea when they will manage to unlock the DME? I am hopping bm3 will do it soon...
Done bench unlock will be impossible on these cars cause bmw wanted it that way although you can ship the dome out to Russia or Dubai and they can “alter” it for it to be unlocked but u think they send back a different dme but personally imma tell u best setup on this car and x6 is jb4 catless downpipe res delete only and map 5 with e30 blend and upgraded ngk spark plugs intake is optional I didn’t run it instead just drop a better filter in there. This is god build for these cars makes them fun asf and fast like really fast and with wheel spin I would still get 4 seconds flat 0-60 which is crazy impressive and would keep up with cars way out of my league

I just got my jb4 in and I was trying to figure out where to push the tab out to run the obd port to the inside. Could you tell me how you ran yours @alpinex5
So honestly it was very tricky running it thru there was already a tight tap with something routed in it already and I just broke the rubber piece a little and ripped it to allow the jb4 wires to fit and on the x5 it’s a bit tricky cause someone needs to be by the engine bay to grab the wire if u get it thru because it comes in from deep
