- From all of us here at Aussie Rock Hounds, thank you so much to everyone for all the messages of love and support during these last few weeks as we’ve been saying goodbye to my son, Dylan. While we're still processing our grief at his sudden loss, we are grateful to be surrounded by you all.
This episode is dedicated to our Dylan…never to be forgotten, and in honour of the absolute joy he brought into our rock hounding community, and most of all into our lives, from day one.
In part 1 of this series, we’re on the hunt for the unique and distinct Dragon Stone. Our Dragon Stone comes from a place called Abydos, out in the beautiful Chichester Ranges - true red dirt country! But it’s an epic journey from HQ to get out there, a million miles into nowhere, as you’ll see.
It’s just Steve on crew with me and Mick on this expedition, as we were doing a little side adventure to pick up one of the additions to our road train cavalry, ‘Old Smoky’, the nickname we’ve given the 6x6 Military Truck I’ve shipped in from the US to survive the tough West Australian terrain and carry the heavy loads we bring back from our mine sites.
Enjoy the ride with us, deep into the Aussie Outback and see what life is really like on these long-haul rides with the Mack, Fuso and 6x6 Military Trucks, and revel in the spectacular sunsets and landscapes along the way.
