In the end, though, it became clear that his perspective on gameplay mechanics-favoring hitscan over the depth and skill of bullet projection-was simply incompatible with mine. It’s as if we’re operating from completely different playbooks, and our approaches are as different as night and day. I really just want real world politics to stay out of media and entertainment. People use entertainment as a way to relieve stress and having politics invading it just makes people hate it more. If the media has a story around politics and has an overall good message, then it's not bad, but a lot of political media has been very toxic lately.
In middle school is where we truly started to learn about politics that isn’t just surface level (idk about you but it was for me). So I don’t think it has that much of an effect on kids under that demographic for such a bland map in comparison to middle school social studies. As Fortnite continues to broaden its player age demographic my opinions will probably change, but the easy solution is to make it only available to ages 13+. Maybe it already is, then idk

Politics nor religion should be in video games. I think the only slightly “political” thing we should educate our kids on early is racism, homophobia, transphobia ect. Our children should be aware that these people exist and learn to accept them early on, so they aren’t shocked when they find out later and treat those people poorly. I don’t really agree that some messages in media are unethical. I believe realistic representation of gay people can be helpful for children to see (nothing intimate obviously) so that they aren’t completely oblivious to the variety of people we have on earth.
