  • In this video I talk about an unusual late side effect caused by my cervical cancer treatment (radiation) and hormone replacement therapy. I experienced severe abdominal pain in my lower abdomen. I saw five doctors before I finally had one agree to run some tests to try to figure out what was going on. The other doctors just blamed it on intestinal damage from the radiation cervical cancer treatments I had a year + ago.

    Hi!! I’m watching all you videos. Thanks again for all your information. Nobody talks about this so honest and open like you. Your story is like a friend talking about this. You definitely have a lot of talent taking or working with kids or something in the hospital 🏥. You should do something with this. I will start my treatment (1b2 MRI) but 2B for the tactile evaluation for the oncologist next week. Not organs or lymphs involved. 4 cm tumor not agresive. Not operation posible. Chemotherapy (cisplastin) 1 time x week, 25 radiotherapy (5 days x week) and braquioterapy 4 times. Your videos make me feel positive inside this process.
    I really appreciate all your efforts explaining what happened to you. It’s hard to talk about it. Stay well and enjoy life darling.

      Thank you so much. I made these videos for people like you who would like to know what was coming. When I did my videos everyone else had such small cancers that they only had surgery. No one talked about chemotherapy/radiation treatments and I just couldn’t relate to their stories.
      I’m doing well now and it has been a little over 4 years since my treatments ended.
      If you have Instagram, I’m on there under the same name. Feel free to message me if you need someone to talk to that can understand.

    Thank you for sharing your experience. Did you suffer from radiation cystitis causing frequent urination( day and night) after the treatments? And how long did it last for?

    • @stubborndetermination6373

      I did have to urinate quite often but I think that it was due to having to drink so much water trying to limit the cisplatin from damaging my kidneys, but it could have been a combination of several factors. It did get better around 6 months post treatments. My doctor was surprised with how long it took my body to heal afterwards, and I still have issues that, "shouldn't have happened" that continue.
      I did have a burning sensation while urinating that occurred on and off for a few months as well.

      @@stubborndetermination6373 thanks for your response. I’m so glad you’re all done with all this. I got done with all my treatments 3 months ago and still dealing with frequent urination day and night. Though it’s slowly getting better now. So I was wondering how long it took you to have normal urination again. But you’re okay now right?

    This side effect is rare. Of course it is! What other side effects might I see in the future?

    Did your doctor recommend you use vaginal dilators?

    • @stubborndetermination6373
      @stubborndetermination6373  5 месяцев назад +2

      Yes and no. She recommends using a silicone vibrator more than the hard plastic dilators that they gave me after finishing internal radiation. The vibration increases blood flow and it's softer so is more gentle on the sensitive tissue. The dilators are a good alternative for people who don't feel comfortable using that kind of device.

      I have a video about dilators if you are interested.
