I did some research and discovered that you can reset the EPC Light and the vehicle should then start. That if it does not start change the throttle pedal position sensor which is attached to the foot pedal inside the vehicle. If the vehicle still doesn't start to seak out a repair shop that is certified to work on the issue to get vehicle back running to start.
My EPC light came on and I experiences an immediate loss of power. Managed to limp home couldnt really drive faster than 80kms. Did some research and first thing i checked was the petrol cap. It was loose, more than likely not tightened by the petrol attendant, i made sure it was fitted properly and tightened it. No issues thereafter.

In my case it was the brake pedal switch sensor (Golf IV, 2001 vintage). No power loss, no motor noise, no check engine light, no danger of the car going suddenly into limp mode. Replacement cost (part), less then $10. Problem, you must first know what it is. Snags: the (low grade) OBD2 scanner did not show any error code, nothing whatsoever. All three brake lights worked perfectly. So called redundancy switches (4 pronged) make the diagnosis so much harder. The first eBay replacement switch, bought from fowlleros, allegedly brand-new, was also defective. That did throw me. (I then falsely suspected the carburetor). There seems to be no easy volt/ohm-meter check to test sensor health. It would be simple enough if there were only two separate circuits, sensor depressed, contact closed. Distinct values for the good and bad sensor but nothing clearcut (exceeded tolerance limits?)

I actually think it has something to do with the throttle or throttle body. The lack of acceleration is the signal that the car is trying to tell you something is wrong. My mother’s EPC light came on and that was her problem.

I recently put too much acceleration while reversing and accidentally reverse drift/flicked my 2WD Volkswagen. Would this cause any damage? I ask because when accelerating, the car randomly shifts too high for the engine to catch up so the car lurches forward. I also switched it into S (sport) mode, and when accelerating, it lurched forward a significant amount and the EPC light came on. 12 Passat. The check engine light blinks 1st when at idle for more than a minute. Then if the rpm's don't get up, the epc light comes on. Limp mode as well. Turn it off, and back on and all is well until you let sit at low idle. I've changed all plugs and coilpacks because the code was 2 cylinders were misfiring. Not sure where to go next? I usually try not to let it sit at idle and it's fine? Maybe let it go to epc light and then see if a code comes up in real time?

ive had the epc light come on a year ago. The next time i start the car it goes away. Hello. The EPC light came on in my 09 Touareg 4.2 while driving on the freeway. I was able to get home in a limp mode. When I scanned with VCDS it showed 2 cylinders disabled ( assuming for the limp mode) , it showed random misfire, and anABS memory trouble code. I went ahead and replaced the ABS module and re programmed it base in the old one's code. I cleared all the codes, but my car won't even crank over. My friend suggested replacing the starter, the symptoms indicating that as a possible cause, but even after replacing the starter it does the same. Any suggestions? Thank you

Mine came on after taking fuses out to check for a blown one. All we did was take them out, look at them, and put them back in and now the epc light is on.

@@BriBorgersen If that would be blown brake light fuse (defective brake switch) then it would be illuminating all the time so I guess it could be water temperature sensor failure... Or if that lights up after you take gas just change brand of gas that you pump...

@@CarManufacturing can running your battery without the engine on cause this I work for a security company and I’m in my car for eight hours and I don’t like to run my car for eight hours so I shut it off but I turn the battery on to run my security light on top my car but when I turn the engine off and then turn the battery on i see the engine light and the EPC light go on but then it goes off in about five seconds is that normal Now I turn my car off for about an hour and a half and then start it up for about 20 minutes and then shut it off another hour and a half and I do that for eight hours will this cause EPC?
Me too. I relaced the battery, and still on. Thermostat replaced, and still on. Drives fine and only comes on under heavy load of acceleration (launch). I can turn car off and turn back on and EPC is gone.

I am.missing intake hose in my 2007 audi a3. I was just running car aboout 140mph for 20 miles in 105 degree heat. My epc light flashes near like 3rd gear then the check engine light comes up. When I scanned the lights, a p0341 came up as a camshaft sensor. So then I replaced it and the light came back on. There seems to be a slight noise. Can’t figure out what’s wrong. Someone help please!

hi i have an 2005 audi a6 quatro i had no problems driving but after i parked i went out 10 mins later to go out again and when i turn the key the dash lights up like normal you hear the the fuel pump but nothing when you start it, my battery is full . we put a tester on it and only got one code for evap. anyone know if this this sound possiable or is it another wild goose chase!?

It could also be the sign of a bad battery.

That was my issue. First thing I changed and had one plug fogged out with oil on it. Once done all good.

I’ve had this light on for the past 4 months, no other lights or symptoms, and no codes read. Any advice on what could be causing it? I hardly have time to take it to a shop/dealer but it’s on my list to have done. I’m an over the road truck driver so I’m hardly even home to get it diagnosed. 2015 A4 2.0 Quattro with almost 50,000 miles.
i change spark plugs on my my 2014 mk7 tsi it showed epc lights straight away after replacing the spark plugs any advice please?

My epc light came on and I had to pull over on the freeway because it’s had no throttle.. i turned off the engine and turned back on and the light didn’t come back on. After that everything was find. Was there a glitch or a glade warning?.. thanks

@@CarManufacturing The EPC light comes on maybe once every 2 months and my car sounds slowed down... but if I turn the car off and back on again, the EPC light goes away and car runs fine. It's weird.
@@BriBorgersen If that would be blown brake light fuse (defective brake switch) then it would be illuminating all the time so I guess it could be water temperature sensor failure...
Or if that lights up after you take gas just change brand of gas that you pump...

@@CarManufacturing can running your battery without the engine on cause this I work for a security company and I’m in my car for eight hours and I don’t like to run my car for eight hours so I shut it off but I turn the battery on to run my security light on top my car but when I turn the engine off and then turn the battery on i see the engine light and the EPC light go on but then it goes off in about five seconds is that normal
Now I turn my car off for about an hour and a half and then start it up for about 20 minutes and then shut it off another hour and a half and I do that for eight hours will this cause EPC?

Me too. I relaced the battery, and still on. Thermostat replaced, and still on. Drives fine and only comes on under heavy load of acceleration (launch). I can turn car off and turn back on and EPC is gone.

I am.missing intake hose in my 2007 audi a3. I was just running car aboout 140mph for 20 miles in 105 degree heat. It shut down transmission and I rolled the car off highway across street into parking lot where here I sit waiting.for tow. Tries to reset the epc light but I think i fried throttle position sensor

My epc light flashes near like 3rd gear then the check engine light comes up. When I scanned the lights, a p0341 came up as a camshaft sensor. So then I replaced it and the light came back on. There seems to be a slight noise. Can’t figure out what’s wrong. Someone help please!

Have you tried to connect control unit to VAG (OBD2 is ok)? It would tell more about the problem... EPC warning light can signal many problems...

hi i have an 2005 audi a6 quatro i had no problems driving but after i parked i went out 10 mins later to go out again and when i turn the key the dash lights up like normal you hear the the fuel pump but nothing when you start it, my battery is full . we put a tester on it and only got one code for evap. anyone know if this this sound possiable or is it another wild goose chase!?
My car will start most of the time but everyone in awhile when I go to start it it it won’t turn over and will show the EPC light plus battery light. Once I get the car started the EPC light disappears.

I have a 2003 Volkswagen Beetle 1.8 liter turbo. My check engine and EPC light come on occasionally while driving. It might be on for 30 minutes then offer a couple hours it's always random. I do not experience throttle response issues when this happen. One time a few weeks ago I experienced falling and throttle response issues but it only lasted for a few minutes and went away. Can anyone help with the diagnosis or should I get a code reading and diagnosis
If the epc comes its advisable you take off your battery terminal for a few minutes then put it back
