I really like the Pear Harbour method. Never thought of doing it quite like that before but it puts you way ahead of the USA in the Pacific arms race.

How does the US player respond. Should he send (2) inf to Hawaii? That would leave a tnspt. alone and lost to the Japanese. I don't think that the US can afford to lose Hawaii without a fight
