Definitely agree that snipers need a higher fps cap than the rest of the blasters on the field to help them be viable. Minimum engagement distance of say 20 metres would solve any increased pain that a higher velocity would give, plus remember it's one gel hitting someone rather than a stream.
Yep 100% agree, I think the hard sell is just with field owners, even though we are literally firing a single gel instead of hundreds per minute, all the owner will hear is "400 fps" and be like "nope"
@@GelspecDuo Yep, you aren't wrong. Maybe some of them could run 'no fps limit' events. I have seen Donnybrook do that, and the Twin Waters field dont have an FPS limit

After running around the field with my stock low fps Remington MSR, I can say it adds quite a bit of fun trying to get your next gel chambered in time before the guy sprinting up with a full auto gets you. Had some real fun moments even at low FPS with bolt action rifles.

Yea even though this video is getting older now the M24 still is the best option but dont get me wrong the MSR is a lot of fun, it really just depends what type of player you are, some of us are too serious :p

Airsoft is illegal in our country, so this and paintball is all wee have, its pretty much paintball minus the paint, so clean and more reliant on people calling hits. We wish we had Airsoft though

Yea unfortunately my Sniper is being worked on so I was unable to get actual sniper footage which is a shame. I will be following up shortly with a review and range tests etc of my sniper, hopefully before the end of next week. I wanted to get this info out and all the footage I had at the moment was from the weekends game.

Metal bolt kit, stainless inner barrel, endless amounts of hop ups etc. In the end, it just couldn't peform and had endless problems (firing randomly, not cocking back etc) At the time, AT Milkies were the best gels on the market so it was abit limited. I ended up selling all the parts and just building a Gen 9 DMR. Watching this video is inspiring me though to get back into tinkering with bolt actions. I still have to control grow gels etc for my DMR, but i do miss the bolt action. I'm waiting to see if any good mods come out for the MSR, the external build of those is great.
If you are in Aus, you can go to an actual rifle store to purchase scopes, places like "The Barn" stock some really great ones, also owning a scope isn't illegal
Honestly anything with a longer barrel and full cylinder, you can make a DMR out of pretty much anything, since gelblasting is held back so much by gels, its pretty hard to make a specific DMR unfortunately.
Heya Ben, the best bet is to join the Discord and ask in the "Snipers-and-shotties" channel as a bunch of the members there know more about each individual part then I do about all of them, also stock changes a fair amount, places have sold out of the v3 kit for example really quick.
Compare them to airsoft snipers (or pretty much *ANY* high end airsoft gun for that matter) and u'll see that the answer is no. And at this point there's just not enough of a difference between gel blasters and airsoft anyway to justify an airsoft ban where gel blasters are legal! And banning either of them is just plain stupid in the first place! Tho airsoft would make gel blasters obsolete wherever the bans are lifted! Airsoft guns blow gel blasters out of the water in terms of accuracy and I'm pretty sure they're more reliable too since their projectiles aren't squishy and don't have any variations in size that would cause a jam!
Correct AS would replace gels straight away, the only reason we have gels is because BBs are banned, otherwise we would be using BBs. Its a case of "whatever we can get away with" at this stage and we hate it, would much rather BBs

So if airsoft guns are banned for their realistic looks and gel blasters aren't then what's the point of keeping the ban upright!? U people need to put pressure on the government to lift that ban coz it really doesn't make *ANY* fuckin' sense to classify airsoft guns as *FIREARMS*!
I actually prefer gel blasters tbh: 1. They are environmentally friendly - airsoft bbs spread plastic n shit everywhere 2. They are catching up to airsoft slowly Just remember that gelsoft is an insanely new concept. Airsoft has been around for the past 20 years, so don't expect it to catch up right away. Gelsoft is by no means a bad sport and to say so would be ridiculous.
