    They are watching your channel too and are aware their anti-competitive behavior is having its intended effect. What they are too stupid to realize is that you are recording the damage they are causing your business and a good out of town lawyer that specializes in anti-competitive monopoly and oligopoly will have a wining case against them. Especially the town is also liable to the damage to your company. You may not have energy or money to sue, but you do have a case.

    l still can't believe that during this desperate state of emergency that your service isn't being regarded as an essential service provided to the local citizens to help avoid a potential disaster.
    The public should be dragging this issue across the table to those in power pointing out that in case of major roof collapses or fire they should be held accountable for crippling the response of emergency services.
    All of this "old boys club" stuff just plain stinks. And I'm sure if push came to shove it would in court as well. As mentioned get your clients to voice their concerns and displeasure over how this is going down. One voice is a whisper, many voices help immensely in getting the message out. The public should be made aware of the fact that city council is playing with their safety and well being.

    I’d stop running trucks once the credit is up and get your deposit money back. They will most likely drag out returning the deposits to hurt you even more, but the sooner you start the process the better. Ideas: Find a melt box rental or speak to a client with excess area near a sewer and lay down industrial rubber heat pads that work on electric and pay the excess electric bill and just dump the piles on the pads. These ideas may not work for your situation, but they get your creative problem solving skills in gear.

    Unfair Business Practices
    Laws proscribing unfair competition and unfair business practices are intended to protect rival competitors and consumers. “Unfair competition” is defined in section 17200 of the CA Business and Professions Code as encompassing any one of the following five types of business “wrongs”:
    (1) an “unlawful” business act or practice;
    (2) an “unfair” business act or practice;
    (3) a “fraudulent” business act or practice;
    (4) “unfair, deceptive, untrue or misleading advertising”; and
    (5) any act prohibited by sections 17500- 17577.5.
    With respect to the terms “act” and “practice,” the statute thus far has been construed to encompass most conduct; even a one-time act has been deemed sufficient to allege a Section 17200 claim.

      Actually there are several local contractors doing the jobs, and one of those contractors has the subcontract on the lease on the pit. Some of those local contractors (the good old boys) don't like the newcomer dipping into their snow removal profits, so they're trying to make things difficult by charging huge fees up front. They would like him to throw in the towel because then all the snow removal jobs and revenue will be theirs...the way they want it.

It seems like a nice guy is running a good business why won't you let him dump his trucks full of snow with the same credit as your other people and why won't the city or why hasn't the city stepped in to see what's going on.
