At first it was bad. Always do THIS at a sale...Otherwise you might loose money!

    I’m in a group on Facebook called buy nothing. In those groups, people give away things for free; lots of similar stuff that seems to be at these estate sales. I personally find estate sales, especially like that one to be quite overpriced. I would expect most of that stuff to be given away for free. Especially those old sewing things and gift tags. They should really be giving those away for free instead of charging.

    Wow! You got some fun stuff, however I can never understand why estate sale people ask such high prices for things that many times end up never selling at the sale anyway. I have done a couple estate sales and I would rather get less money and see the items go to people who will use the items in some way. I'm happy to give someone a good deal so that I can , at the very least, move the items so that I don't have to send things to the landfill or pack up and haul to donate....tho donating is great! I think estate sale folks get too greedy. It's fine to command a larger price on valuable items, but within reason. I really enjoy your estate sale videos. You like some of the same things that I like. Thank you!

    I may be wrong but I think the art of the little girls with big eyes is by the artist Margaret Keane. She was famous for making those types of paintings. Tim Burton made a movie about her called, you guessed it, "Big Eyes". It came out in 2014 and stars Amy Adams. I believe her husband tried to take credit for her work and that was a big storyline in the movie. I remember liking the movie and it might be worth checking out for anyone interested in her story.

    I don't understand those prices. They will just end up with so many things left and what are they going to do with all of it then? Donate it somewhere? Wouldn't it be smarter to just lower the prices? Isn't the whole point of an estate sale to get rid of stuff without having to move it yourself?

  • @blugreen123
    @blugreen123 10 месяцев назад +1

    Those prices are Ebay prices. It's so aggravating when stuff at estate sales isn't priced to move.

    Thanks for taking us along ❤

    Collectors seem to be punished anymore. With the world filled with so many resellers it's so hard to pick up stuff from yard sales and auctions at a decent price😢

    I love and collect vintage holiday decor. I have alot. I buy when the price is right but will pay up sometimes. Prices have soared on some items such as flower power brooches. I used to pay 50c and a dollar now $8 to $12. I loved the vintage pom pom animals. I loved the Gumby too. The holiday tags were sweet. Hope your gift purchases stay a secret. It's so fun to be surprised w something u actually like. Merry merry!!

      That's exactly what I was thinking. I wonder if the estate company has a shop. We have 2 estate sale companies by me that have stores. I no longer even bother going to their sales any longer.

    • @fififirestone3787

      I think what's happening is that these companies are looking on Ebay at what things are listed for and trying to charge those types of prices. They aren't necessarily looking at what things actually sell for and they don't seem to realize that most people at Estate Sales don't want to pay Ebay prices.

  • @aprilfool8329
    @aprilfool8329 10 месяцев назад +2

    With as much stuff as they still had in that house on day two of the estate sale, you would have thought that they would have been making good deals so that they would sell as much as possible. Unless they are going to have several more sales in the upcoming weeks, they are going to have tons of stuff to deal with that didn't sell. When we had my parents' estate sale there was a lot of stuff because they were packrats, but we priced things to sell because we didn't want to be left with a houseful of things that didn't sell. You did a great job of bargaining with the woman and got some nice things, but $20 for single salt shakers was way too much unless they were Holt Howard, which they weren't. Thanks for sharing!

    I grew up with the Miss Suzy book. Love any of the Peanut's books. The pom pom animals are darling. My favorite is the turtle. My brother got the bunny one year for Easter. It's probably still at my mom's house. Prices seemed high. I'd have to haggle also. Love the Christmas name tags, and vintage cards.
