Video of a recovery of a cargo of aluminum blocks from a depth of more then 100 meter using a in house developed and build remote operated underwater crane
Very nice video. I was impressed. A lot of teamwork. Question: did you get the blocks out of the ship or only off the deck? Not to belittle that task though just a question? Cutting the deck off to get inside to remove the aluminum would be a great engineering feat. Great job. The Turva tied alongside the barge was interesting to see.
Google search says average US value for aluminium in 2014 was about $1 726 per metric ton, so times 5000 tons it's $8.6M. Not really sure if they ended up making much money considering the amount of labor and materials needed to recover the cargo and then mill off the corroded surface of each aluminum bar, or if they just sold it for scrap.
Watching Mammoet's version, with sound instead of this ripped off video with porn music, is much more watchable.
Nuts Mc Flurry will look for a link
REALLY annoying music. Good video.
Do away with the annoying music please. Mammoet doesn’t deserve such filth being played over their expertise.
that "filth" sold millions of copies. Depeche Mode was never my cup of tea, but this is well constructed music.
When making a video like this, slow down the subtitles, and comments. So people that are watching the video can read them before they disappear.
Why are you playing that ridiculous music?
Thanks for sharing!! I love this engineering type stuff and there is not enough of it on here.
If i wanted to listen to head throbbing music I'd turn on the radio!!!
The music is crap! Thumbs down after one minute.
I once had to salvage 5,000 tons of Styrofoam. It was almost like this.

Music was total overkill - good for adult vids but not this one.
nice video and if one does not like the music, just turn your audio off :)
a good narration instead of that stupid music and this would of been a great video.
crap 'music'
Excellent video, but no audio for most of it. Very innovative way to recover a cargo!
VERY VERY ANNOYING MUSIC!
But a great video. No sound at all in second half.
Thank you
Mamoet and smit always have such fascinating recovery videos. I am waiting to see the refloating of the ship in the suez canal video
Music is unbearable.
The music wtf were you thinking about????
Great approach and execution! Too rich a cargo to be left on the bottom of the sea. 😁
Thanks for the video.
would of been interesting to know the value of the cargo. The recovery operation wouldn't of been cheap.
aluminum wholesale is about $2,200/ton * 5000 tons = around $11million
I believe if it falls under maritime salvage laws, Mammoet is entitled to the value of the cargo.

I wonder how much the aluminium is worth in total..
Someone's not a good audio mixer.
los mejores del mundo en operaciones en carga y reparaciones
Great video. Did a great job...
What happened to the audio?
Where is a music?
What's the name of the song?
"Nails on a chalkboard" by Plug Yer Ears
No way, I loved that music. Kinda heavy metal with an industrial edge. Good. Hear that guitar and solid drum support. Too bad no vocals.
Hocus-pocus by Focus.
thank god we have mute button
