Psalms is actually divided into 5 Books as stated based on the 5 Books of the Pentateuch (accurately pronounced pen-tuh-toohk not pen-ta-tush) and each book has varying number of Psalms. Book 1 has 41, Bok 2 has 31, Book 3 has 48, Book 4 has 17, and Book 5 has 43 for a total of 150. There are not 50 in each division. Modern scholarship would also agree that the books are not chronological and are not all written by David.
