We fenced the entire thing to prevent squatters and we have finally received approved plans to sub-divide and build 3 homes, one for each of us. My brother took the existing house and is currently extending it. The challenges you talked about is no joke and living abroad while trying to get things done in Jamaica cannot be explained.

When you say real estate im assuming your thinking about investment.... please don't wait and wait otherwise everything gets expensive and your down payment willl be stagnant or decrease in value.... great luck to you

My house is soooo mess up. Lots of demolishing have done on my house. Because the contractor mess the house design up. I’m very stress out. Now I’m trying to fit it slowly. I’m living in the UK and it’s very difficult to build out of my pocket. Thanks for your story❤✨👍🏽
Oh no. I'm sorry to hear. Unfortunately building while you are not here is even worse. Try to get someone trustworthy to oversee the process. It may cost you but it's worth it
My land title takes roughly 5 years. Then I finally get my land title through the Jamaica national land agency, I think that’s the agency. Just last year. It was very stressful.
At what age did you meet your husband? I have a piece of land myself.. it’s capture land that I bought how do I go about starting the process.. I did this when I was a little younger and wouldn’t want to loose it. I have so many questions… this is so inspiring for me !!
Met him when I was 23. Don't thinknu can buy capture land as who u bought it from cannot legally sell u but if u r in possession for 12 years uninterrupted and paying taxes, you may be able to apply for a title. Talk to a lawyer though or LAMP
@@Davianealeforrest2 wish i could speak to you JLRA has been processing a tittle before my grandfather died. Its over 15 years and no sight of no tittle. When i go there to get update they were not very helpful.
@@Davianealeforrest2 I don't think you are as the banks who have given you money would have stressed tested you... they wouldn't just give away money.... it's always to their advantage whilst ensuring it's affordable to you... one positive is that you have more than one property, you have land and two incomes... youre almost as clever as the bank .. your absolutely fine 👆

Try the bank. Most banks have their agents and the agents have their lawyers that they use. Most of the time you can’t go wrong with the banks. Keyword (most) not all
You have to be there, tricky situation. Do not just use lawyer, get a property lawyer to do the background paperwork. You will end up paying more than you expected. Sometimes back payment, back paperwork, other people attached land agreement. Be wise!

When you dont tell them the info they say you gatekeep, I became a homeowner 8 months ago. We tried building but it didn't work we ended up buying. How were you able to get NHT benefit even with name on home title

I am paying $11,000 per month at NH. When I come back to Jamaica, I will just close my mortgage not much left on it
No point in closing it off. At least it's insured now. When u close you will have to pay your own insurance if u need it

I got a reduced amount. You are still eligible for a benefit but it's about half of the usual amount
