- The notorious Mercedes nasty plastic issue - simple cheap replacement of the steering wheel buttons (new ones from AliExpress).
Makes such a difference - makes the car showroom fresh :)
REMEMBER !!! ................ DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND WAIT (PREFERABLY OVERNIGHT) BEFORE TOUCHING AN AIRBAG !!

Thanks for the video, Mercedes puts everything together quite strangely,,, I also had sticky control buttons. Ordered 2 new ones, I was able to disassemble everything without breaking anything using pliers... Finally I placed my new buttons and tried to clean the old and sticky buttons with TINNER on a cloth and wiped everything off neatly received, the old buttons are also as new and usable again.
It seems an odd plastic blend in those years :)
Great to hear it’s not just me with sticky buttons! My 2007 R320CDI buttons have almost melted.
They are crap :)
Good to see the old boy has still got enough back pressure to sticky up his buttons. The days of Mrs S's milk monsters getting a good spraying of man moisturiser is long gone.

They were not that sticky before he got in Queen B ( R named it Queen 😂 )

Yes that would definitely not have been a good idea especially as Naths head was right next to the airbag and they inflate around
200 MPH!

You really need to know what your doing working on airbag systems.
You would think the replacement would be complete so you don't have to muck around taking the plastic backing plate of the old one..... Bloody plastic Rubbish...
Now the sunroof has gone tits up 😭 I love the car, but for a full Merc serviced car, its riddled with faults
