Worked for my iphone 7 on iOS 15.8. only thing is that you cant make phone calls or text after but you can still use wifi and download apps and everything so i wouldn't recommend doing this on your main phone but it definitely works and I would recommend using it on an older iPhone that you won't need to use for texting or phone calls.
