Hi. Thank you for you job. It is really amazing.I feel how my skill is going up by watching your videos. I am beginner it his craft, but I really love to study with great teacher :) thank you!
Bought three of these wallets to make and give out for Christmas gifts. Thanks for all you do. I saw in another RUclipsr's video ( can't remember at the moment who it was) using a felt cloth and regular old candle wax to give a nice finish to the leather. Have you tried this method? Edit: the video was "How to age leather fast and easy" by DieselpunkRo Again thanks for all you do. Happy holidays
OLD LEATHER SMITH here, very nice Eric, I usually use hard rubber so I will try your way, mink oil is ok, try virgin olive oil you might be surprised, it absorbs faster and more coats will darken the leather, want some original mink oil, I bought some from the original company a long time ago, keep up the good work, GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃
Love this! How did you do the print on the bag? a black layer with white over print, or a black layer that was just the shapes of the shadow, so to speak? Either way I'm guessing you had to let each colour cure separately?!
Hi, I tried out to block print my wallet with the same colours etc. used in your videos. I let it dry for one week (indoor), then applied some mink oil and then buffed it. Both mink oil and the water blurred the whole motif. Any advice? I already used a small amount of color but have no roller?! Liebe Gruße nach Massachusetts
The aging on that bag is amazing, way more beautiful than any paint finish one could add. Do you still have the pattern by any chance? Awesome work as always.
What is the advantage of mink oil? I JUST started working leather... but years ago I bought an axe with a natural leather sheath and I noticed rust starting to form... so I soaked the sheath in vegetable oil from the kitchen 😅... but it worked and looked great. Is there a specific reason I should use mink oil instead?
That printing looks horrible and you made it even worse by filling the leathers with white paint. First-grader would not make it different. Otherwise, your leather work is very good.
Keep on going with this topic, and keep on going with the teaching. Perfect. Thanks. Love it!
I did enjoy it Corter. I like the look of the leather at the end 😊

Different oils give slightly different colours. Neatsfoot for example gives a more yellow finish. Mink goes dark.
