I bought the original version on your recommendation 4 or 5 years ago and I still have it on one of my bikes. It’s been faultless and the battery lasted for 3 years before needing a change, I’ve since added the version 7 for my other bike and that’s a bit more compact and again works perfectly. Their support is really good as well as I found when I swapped my phone and messed up with the app, very helpful with a quick response. So, I would definitely recommend and in fact will be buying this version for a forthcoming new bike. Glad they’re supporting the channel! Good point on the key fob as well, I’ve just separated my fobs from the bike keys🤦♂️😂
Great review Andy, I have the 7 and it works really well. But I must admit the 9 looks like and sleek, charging the unit is a bonus 👍 Mind them spiders 🕷🕸
Hi Andy, interesting video. I have both MoniMoto and BikeTrac installed on my bike. The upsides with MoniMoto are lowing cost, zero install cost, low subscription, no battery, drain and the key fob functionality. Downside are less sensitive than the Bike trac to motorbike being disturbed rather than moved from the location, eg being lifted into a van, not recognised by insurers (my one said not) , not Thatcham accredited, no one except yourself to find it if police too busy. Lower location accuracy, If the bike was hidden in a row of garages GPS (3 to 5m accuracy) which will not allow police to obtain a search warranty, whereas BikeTrac has also RF which goes down to 1 m. Your right all have pros and cons neither perfect🤷🏻♂️
Got the old one Andy, works really well. It’s the only Italian electric gubbins that actually works, unlike Ducati and Aprilia. If you forget the fob and go for a ride, you can put the device into sleep mode from your phone.
Have used the older Monimoto 7 for a while. Effective, inexpensive system that's very sensitive - just lifting the bike off the side stand is enough to trigger the alarm. Great "peace of mind" tracker - especially when your bike's parked on the street 👍
I have MM7 on 2 bikes over 2 years as problems with false calls while driving them. They changed out the fobs for free. No complaints on MM. I have 1 doing the same thing again, they said change out the battery. Works great. I think they need to update the app so it will tell you when the battery is low and needs to be changed. Other than that it’s a great product…….
Got mine on Thursday and fitted onto my bike. I later moved the bike a couple of feet in the garage at home and within a couple of minutes it detected the movement and phoned me to warn me. Impressive.

I use Atuvos Bluetooth trackers. Cheap reliable and easier to hide as they’re very small. Great for urban/semi-urban environments. Can’t go wrong for £15 each. I have 2 fitted on each of my bikes.
I have found that these only work in very heavily populated areas (no good if you're riding your bike in the country) and the update frequency is very poor - even tracking my case through heathrow airport doesn't work reliably! Monimoto is far more robust and reliable in my experience....
Interesting video. Seriously considering a tracker but it's a minefield finding a decent value one that doesn't drain the battery & ideally doesn't need a subscription either. This was helpful.

I actually prefer the previous model Moni Moto with the replaceable lithium AA batteries because built-in, rechargeable batteries eventually loose performance or die, meaning the whole unit is then scrap. Also, what happens if some toe rag steels your bike whilst your Moni Moto is in the house being recharged? The old model alerted you to low battery just the same. The 2 lithium AA batteries take a few seconds to replace, meaning the tracker goes straight back on the bike and they also last about 12 months. So whilst the new one is a little smaller, I think it’s comprised.
Yes apologies - the price has changed since I made the video (I did say "at the time of recording") - sadly I can't control what they charge for it!! Still great value though I reckon....thanks for watching!
I've got an earlier Monimoto after seeing one of your previous videos and in the App, settings you can start active tracking if the bike keys and fob were stolen together but as you suggest probably best to keep them seperate as if the fob is on the same key ring it gives the game away that a tracker is fitted somewhere on the bike, which could mean they start damaging the bike trying to find it.
I have the Monimoto and biketrac on different bikes. With biketrac there are some less diligent dealers who don’t hide the tracker but note by following the power cables u can find it with time anyhow. At least with Monimoto there are no power cables but word of warning if u declare a trackers u must keep up with sub I know someone who let his sub expire and insurance only offering 25% of money
Yes Insurance is such a scam isn't it - I don't tell them I have a tracker (unless they insist on it which they do on some bikes) - they never reduce your premiums and as you say then then just insist you ALWAYS use it......
Very nice installation and review. Unfortunately my experience is some police aren't terribly helpful on recovery in some places (Denver, Colorado) these days. When my last two motorcycles were stolen I could have given the police the names, address, and picture of the thieves and they wouldn't even take the information. That is pretty sad so it is a little hard to get excited even if the product is a good one.
Seems like a solid product at a reasonable price point, great review. I am tempted to get one for a bit of peace of mind. The one thing that struck me however is that the automated call presumably comes from various random numbers so caller ID will not be able to determine that it's from Monimoto so it could be all too easy to ignore the call thinking it's spam. So that made me wonder, how soon after the phone call does the app give you the first notification? Of course, just being mindful of the fact that such a call may come through when out and about on the bike is a simple solution, but that could be easily forgotten or not realised in case of it being tampered with/stolen.
l considered the first incarnation of this tracker but thought it to large to hide so l bought into the PAJ system instead. It doesn't have a key fob, uses adjustable Geofence and movement detect plus a very accurate tracking phone system. However, since the dimensions have been reduced this unit would certainly be worth looking at...
Yes apologies - the price has changed since I made the video (I did say "at the time of recording") !! Still great value though I reckon....thanks for watching!
Don't have the monimoto 9, have the previous version on my bike and although there are better ones when it comes to tracking, I still have my bike thanks to Monimoto. I was having lunch at work when I get a monimoto notification that my bike is being moved. I rushed to the bike only to find four scrotes pushing it away. Fortunately I managed to scare them away, but, where it not for monimoto alerting me, my bike would have joined the statistics of the insane amount of bike theft in Ireland
I purchased the Monimoto 7 and found it nearly impossible to find a place to mount it (concealed) on a Triumph Bobber. The batteries needed replacing for only six months. Please don't select the location option to extend battery life when updates are sent. I get alarm calls when riding with the key fob in my jacket pocket! The GSM signal is touchy. I sometimes get a signal loss warning when parked under a covered parking area or in a shed.
It would be good to see a side by side comparison of the improvements between the 7 and 9. I have the 7 and it's pretty good if it's just the size. I'd just get another 7, but if the signal and tracking has improved then I'd be tempted to upgrade. What I notice about the 7 is that it can be a bit laggy and somtimes the location can be off by a few meters which can be a problem if you track your stolen bike back to a location and accuse the thief's neighbour and not the scumbag that's stole your pride and joy 😂
0:58 Stick it on your trailer, on your...... -wife- caravan 😅 Seems like a decent product. Might be worth doing a more in-depth review to verify things like: waterproofing, battery life (especially when active during a "theft"), location updates when the bike is on the move (5 minute update increments seem a bit long), and perhaps comparison to other products. I have a Datatool tracker and when my bike was stolen, I was on the phone with the police and was able to give them updates on its location every ~30 seconds which led to a quick recovery.
The update increment period can be shortened on both the MM7 and MM9, at the expense of battery life. Might not be a big deal if you have a place to hide the smaller 9 that is easy to get to for battery recharges, but I can't even find a place to hide the 7 that keeps the transmitter on top, let alone some place I can access without disassembling the bike when it comes time for battery replacement.
I also have a Monimoto tracker fitted, it's an exelent piece of kit which, I found out last year when I left the 'fob in my garage by mistake and, my phone kept ringing all day😄 (idiot). The major downside is that it's not recognised by insurance companies as it's 'self fitted '. 🤔.
@@TheMissendenFlyer I agree I tested this theory by getting quotes and adding security devices including trackers then got a quote without any devices the cost was the same so in a way it’s best not to add them to a policy because if you add them but forget to use them you void your claim ! If you don’t add them and use them anyway there is less risk
My bikes alarmed, disk locked, chained, covered, cover locked to bike both ends, and sat in front of a camera. All the best items money can buy, and not one of them recognised by an insurer lol.
The thing that worried me about the earlier version is that the company didn't seem aware of, and it fact told me it would never happen, 3 g being turned off. If I was aware (admitedly a long time bfore it happened but just as an ordinary member of the public) why were'nt they when they're a tech company? Hopefully they've caught up a bit.
The price WAS £129 but it is now £149 on their website .....a few weeks later 😊. Great video, as they often are, motivated me to buy but the price increase seems a pity
Thanks Andy - re-charging of the tracker is a useful update. I think, like me, you had/have an earlier version - I assume the app will support different versions concurrently if I buy another for a 2nd bike?
Well it's horses for courses - the probem with the sizzapp is the leads from the battery give it away to would be thiefs (and its much larger and therefore trickier to hide) - I guess you have to decide what works best for you.
I’m about to purchase a new bike and this would appear a better solution than previous trackers I’ve used. Is it a recognised brand for insurance purposes? Thanks, great vid 👍
No in my experience. Not sure other types are either though. But still worth it. I have an earlier MM version and it still works fine….this new one is a decent upgrade tho. I’ll likely use the offer and upgrade.
Looks pretty good, I currently use Alltrac on my bike which I think is about £100 per year renewal, however the call you get is from a human and if it goes while in the UK they will liaise with the police and guide them to it live. In europe they will give the location but not communicate with the police as a live service. That said, I have another bike joining the stable soon, Shhhh the missus doesn’t know yet, and this may be a good option to protect it, especially as it uses no battery connection 🤔
Yes I use all track on one of my vehicles, I had to as it came preinstalled with it, although it is a good system it cost me I think £120 a year and it means I have to have the vehicle constantly plugged into a battery charger has left alone. It will flatten the battery in about two days, like I say, there are pros and cons of these different types of trackers.
Good vid. Like the product. Yeah if you can do it I might have a half butt chance myself. Now is it available in USA? Seems fairly easy to hide. Can the app be cracked? Does it work RTW? Good vid Andrew
Looks like a good device at a fair price Andy. Going to order one of these . Does it say in the instructions how far apart the remote and device have to be before the traker will " wake up" and i take it if the remote is within range then the device isn't using as much battery power ? Is that correct
You can set the sensitivity so you are very close or further away....and I don't know re your 2nd point but that seems to make sense! Battery life is not an issue though...
Hey!! I was talking to a guy rides a 2016 GS at Pugh's garden in rogerstone..he said he watches this channel he's met you few times also he did the channels music for you...
ah damn, Andy! I just ordered an MM9 last week, so missed your discount! Had the MM7 before but they key fob was very fiddly and it started malfunctioning and calling me even tho the fob was in my jacket and I was riding the bike! Could never work out why.
I had the same issue, replaced the battery in the fob and it was still the same so I thought my unit was malfunctioning. 2 year guarantee so I contacted Moni Moto via email, replied instantly. The lass knew her stuff and said it was a fob issue and not the unit. She requested a photo of the inside of my fob so she was sending the correct one out to me, which I sent. 10 mins later notification it was on the way. It arrived next morning and has been trouble free since. Fantastic customer service.
Hi Andy, is the main difference between the 7 and the 9 only the form factor and the charging? Curious if there is an updated app with more functonality such is pinging my bike location if i'm away or such. If its just charging and form factor i'm quite content with my 7.
It does use a new App for the 9 too I believe - but I'm not sure what the differences are between the 7 and 9 app...all I can say is it's better than the original one I had!
I bought the Monimoto 7 two months ago for my new bike. Unfortunately it doesn't fit under the plastics or seat anywhere, so I have a $150 piece of useless plastic in a cardboard box and since the box has been opened I can't exchange it for the new smaller 9.
Eventually, it will drive you nuts when moving your bike around in the garage and constantly getting alerts. Unless you always have the fob with you, you WILL find this out. Also, on ferries or at the dealers for service you will get alerts. I took my (similar) Datatool off my bike for this reason. Tip, Apple air tag, cheaper, smaller, no ongoing costs and no annoying notifications.
Tip - Apple Airtags don't work very well! I bought a pack of three specifically to test as people kept mentioning them, I've found them to be very unreliable (couldn't even track my bag through Heathrow airport!!) and pretty useless if you're out in the sticks with location updates being very out of date if no one near with an apple device to report. Better than nothing I guess but not a patch on a proper device like this...
@themissendenflyer ok tracker, thanks illl buy that. But I need your help! Ive got Cardo Pack Talk Edge, BMW R1300GS and android phone. As someone who changes bikes alll the time, and i guss pairs your stuff up. My question is, i can get everything paired and the bike recognises phone and helmet and all the apps work - a bit. Issue is they dont work completely, i might lose voice commands or maybe the nav is a bit weird. Have you come across any tips for this type of thing?
Yes I have - I can never get connectivity to work properly and reliably on any motorcycle I've tried it to date (least of all my own)....in the main I can't be doing with it if it doesn't "just work".....
Great little device Andy not sure if someone want to find it on a bike they could but might give it a go does it give you cheaper insurance? Keep up the great vids Andy regardless of what some people say 👍💪
Would you have to leave the fob with the bike when your bike goes in for a service and/or MOT or is it a case of just having to deal with the notifications and alerts as and when they pop up?
I had a challenge to the reason they use a fob over a mobile phone. I’m still not convinced One of the reasons why Monimoto uses a Bluetooth fob instead of relying solely on a mobile Bluetooth connection to a mobile phone is for enhanced security and reliability. Using a Bluetooth fob ensures that the connection between the device and the fob is more secure and less prone to interference or hacking attempts. The fob acts as a dedicated and secure communication channel, reducing the risk of unauthorized access or tampering with the device. Additionally, the Bluetooth fob allows for a more seamless and automatic connection with the Monimoto device. Once paired, the fob provides continuous and reliable communication, even when the mobile phone is out of range or turned off. This ensures that you can always stay connected to your Monimoto device, without relying solely on the mobile phone's Bluetooth connection, which can be affected by various factors like battery life or other device limitations. Overall, the Bluetooth fob provides an additional layer of security and reliability to the Monimoto device, enhancing its effectiveness in tracking and protecting your valuable assets.
I tried those too but have found them to be very inaccurate and unreliable (in that you can’t always get an up to date fix) - I think reliance on being near an Apple phone is the issue…
That does look pretty good value. I am looking for a tracker, I have been put off by the thought that my partner, if she downloads the app could track ME when I'm working "late".
Great video. I use Apple AirTags on all my bikes. They are TRACKABLE. They have NO SUBSCRIPTION. They are TINY. They tell me where all my tracked kit is LOCATED. They TEXT me if my bikes have MOVED. The BATTERIES LAST ages. They are EASILY HIDDEN. They MESSAGE ME when power is low. How good is that! My mate put one on his super-expensive bicycle. It was nicked and the cops happily tracked the thief to exactly where the AirTag said he was! Hello!!! Yes, the MM has some nice additional functions but what more functionality does one need than to track the item or know when it is moved away from your set locations! Thank you for a great channel. PS: One cannot 'secrete' the MM but it can be hidden. However, the AirTag is so much smaller, lighter and easier to conceal.
Lots of people tell me how good AirTags are and so I bought a pack of 3 to test them out, in my experience they are very unreliable at providing up-to-date location information. I wasn’t even able to track my case in Heathrow Airport! The problem with them is that they rely on being near somebody with an Apple product for them to report their location, if like me you ride your motorcycle a lot in the countryside. It means the tracker is often without any signal to report back. That is not the case with the tracker like the Monimoto.
I thought airtag makes an audible sound when it is out of your iphone's bluetooth range? It's what stopped me buying one as it wouldn't be much use as a covert tracker.
@@999pez Here is what happens. "Their location is not tracked by GPS, but by Bluetooth. An AirTag emits a Bluetooth signal that privately and securely connects to any any nearby iPhones. The location will be beamed back to your iPhone in the Find My app. For those worried about privacy, all AirTags are connected to a single Apple ID, so only those logged into an Apple device with that Apple ID can actually see the location of the AirTag." This works a treat unless a thief has stolen your bike or stuff where there is no iPhone in range. Perhaps the moon, or if you are named Musk, Mars!
Great review and device, just what I'm looking for, although the price is £149 rather than £129 I think. Still, I think I'll pick one up. Just a shame they are on back order!
Only issue is you hide it then have to either remove it to charge it more often than the 7 so if you don’t remove to charge it it’s going to be easy to find

Spiders = money, they say in my country.
Bought mine today, hope money was well spend.
Cheers.
It's currently £149.99 but with your generous discount code it's £134.10. Just order one, although it's on back order till mid May.
Yes apologies - the price has changed since I made the video (I did say "at the time of recording") - sadly I can't control what they charge for it!! Still great value though I reckon....thanks for watching!
Spider will be fine only crawl in one of your helmets 😅, decent bit of kit😊
I've got an earlier Monimoto after seeing one of your previous videos and in the App, settings you can start active tracking if the bike keys and fob were stolen together but as you suggest probably best to keep them seperate as if the fob is on the same key ring it gives the game away that a tracker is fitted somewhere on the bike, which could mean they start damaging the bike trying to find it.
Yes good tip - thanks for sharing - I should have mentioned that....
Thanks Andy, just what I need fro the Triumph Rocket 3 GT
No problem 👍
Very nice installation and review. Unfortunately my experience is some police aren't terribly helpful on recovery in some places (Denver, Colorado) these days. When my last two motorcycles were stolen I could have given the police the names, address, and picture of the thieves and they wouldn't even take the information.
That is pretty sad so it is a little hard to get excited even if the product is a good one.
Sorry to hear that....souinds like it's worse there than here!
It comes from the same number so you can save it and call it Monimoto or Bike Alarm
l considered the first incarnation of this tracker but thought it to large to hide so l bought into the PAJ system instead. It doesn't have a key fob, uses adjustable Geofence and movement detect plus a very accurate tracking phone system. However, since the dimensions have been reduced this unit would certainly be worth looking at...
Yes it really is small now….
Got mine last week, seems good for 129 , think the price has increased to 149 , but with your 10% off still good value i reckon.
Yes apologies - the price has changed since I made the video (I did say "at the time of recording") !! Still great value though I reckon....thanks for watching!
Really good bit of kit . You can't be to careful these days ❤
Thanks for sharing!
Is this device associated with any reduction in insurance premium? If not then just use an AirTag
Air tags don’t work so well in my experience - especially out in the countryside…
Great review as always.
What would you suggest in the case where one doesn’t have cell reception in the underground garage, the bikes parked at ?
Yes, that’s a tricky one, in that case you’ll need to stick to one of the expensive full fat trackers that also have RF features.
I received mine in the post a couple of days ago !
Cool!
You’ve been unlucky - I have none of those issues and mine just works!
-wife- caravan 😅
Seems like a decent product.
How much does the datatool tracker cost to purchase/maintain service?
The update increment period can be shortened on both the MM7 and MM9, at the expense of battery life. Might not be a big deal if you have a place to hide the smaller 9 that is easy to get to for battery recharges, but I can't even find a place to hide the 7 that keeps the transmitter on top, let alone some place I can access without disassembling the bike when it comes time for battery replacement.
@JustTheHighlights - I thought 'wife' too!!! Make a great tool to catch out cheating spouses!!
Hi Andy, does it go off if the bike is just rocked about or do you need to take it off the stand and move it.
Thanks
It will go off if the bike is lightly moved.
Very impressive piece of equipment. I cant believe it could detect that little bit of movement.
You and me both!
Hi, great review. Have you any experience of the Tracker Nano Plus? Similar idea but Thatcham S7 rated. Cheers
No I haven't
I also have a Monimoto tracker fitted, it's an exelent piece of kit which, I found out last year when I left the 'fob in my garage by mistake and, my phone kept ringing all day😄 (idiot). The major downside is that it's not recognised by insurance companies as it's 'self fitted '. 🤔.
I’ve yet to have an insurance company give me any benefit for having a tracker fitted (and I’ve tried all sorts!)….
@@junkie1128 Agreed 100%
My bikes alarmed, disk locked, chained, covered, cover locked to bike both ends, and sat in front of a camera. All the best items money can buy, and not one of them recognised by an insurer lol.
Yep.., I got an earlier version with the round key fob on my RS1250
The thing that worried me about the earlier version is that the company didn't seem aware of, and it fact told me it would never happen, 3 g being turned off. If I was aware (admitedly a long time bfore it happened but just as an ordinary member of the public) why were'nt they when they're a tech company? Hopefully they've caught up a bit.
Not being turned off until 2033 as far as I know, so not too much of a worry at this point....
The price WAS £129 but it is now £149 on their website .....a few weeks later 😊. Great video, as they often are, motivated me to buy but the price increase seems a pity
Apologies, price was right at time of recording! Still great value though
Thanks Andy - re-charging of the tracker is a useful update. I think, like me, you had/have an earlier version - I assume the app will support different versions concurrently if I buy another for a 2nd bike?
I don’t know but a quick email to them will get the answer!
Andy thanks for the video, which is appealing but do you know if Insurance companies recognise the device?
Depends on the insurance company - in my experience no tracker reduces your premiums, they just insist you use them if you state you have one!
It would be helpful if, after your obligations with the sponsor, you could share your thoughts comparing the monimoto and the sizzapp
Well it's horses for courses - the probem with the sizzapp is the leads from the battery give it away to would be thiefs (and its much larger and therefore trickier to hide) - I guess you have to decide what works best for you.
@@TheMissendenFlyer that's a very good point I didn't consider. thanks for the feedback
Hey, great recommendation, what tracker would you recommend for a ducati? Same tracker?
If you want standalone then yes…
👍 Z900RS looks the business.
Thank you….
Saw one on the motorway today - they really do look awesome.
@@thebrowns5337 Yes it is a cool bike for sure....mine is growing on me!
I find insurance companies seldom recognise or give you any benefits for trackers - and I've tried them all!
That’s not a spider! Come to Australia and we’ll show you spiders! Great channel Andy
Err - nah, you’re alright mate!!
Fantastic thanks
Most welcome
Hey!! I was talking to a guy rides a 2016 GS at Pugh's garden in rogerstone..he said he watches this channel he's met you few times also he did the channels music for you...
That'll be Jez - lovely fella!
Thanks Andy. Are the mm7 and mm9 SIMs safe from the 2G and 3G network shutdowns across Europe, do you know? Pat.
Err - I dunno??? I'm told these work everywhere so I' guessing it's good....
ah damn, Andy!
Great t hear that - I have to say I have found them very responsive....
Nice review. For these types, will the Police do anything if you called and said you know where it is? I hear mixed reports on that.
Who knows - luckily I've never had to test it....
I bought the Monimoto 7 two months ago for my new bike. Unfortunately it doesn't fit under the plastics or seat anywhere, so I have a $150 piece of useless plastic in a cardboard box and since the box has been opened I can't exchange it for the new smaller 9.
Good video, but unfortunately the price quoted is for the v7. The new v9 is £149.
Apologies for the error
Fair enough, I don't use Apple, I use Samsung smart tags (Android) and find them to work well enough.
Whatever works for you.👍
Yes you’ll receive an alert in those circumstances, but that’s why it has the sleep mode.
Does anyone know why my monimoto 9 has a blue and purple flashing light every 3 seconds and no connection with the app ? Thanks
Fraid not - RTFM?
Great little device Andy not sure if someone want to find it on a bike they could but might give it a go does it give you cheaper insurance? Keep up the great vids Andy regardless of what some people say 👍💪
Depends on your insurance company - in my experience I’ve never had money off because of a tracker (regardless of type and I e tried them all!)
Would you have to leave the fob with the bike when your bike goes in for a service and/or MOT or is it a case of just having to deal with the notifications and alerts as and when they pop up?
You can turn the device off from within the app for when it goes for service....
Thanks
No problem
I had a challenge to the reason they use a fob over a mobile phone. I’m still not convinced
One of the reasons why Monimoto uses a Bluetooth fob instead of relying solely on a mobile Bluetooth connection to a mobile phone is for enhanced security and reliability.
Is the Bluetooth just to get it up and running or does it have to be on all the time?
Just to get it up and running I think (then the fob and Monimoto talk only when the bike is moved….)
@@TheMissendenFlyer Excellent

I tried those too but have found them to be very inaccurate and unreliable (in that you can’t always get an up to date fix) - I think reliance on being near an Apple phone is the issue…
Also apple tag will alert the thief to It's presence if they have an iphone
lovely bike.
Thanks!
Will be interesting to see how it fairs with heat / wet etc ..... ive had some fail on both
I’ve not had any issues this far…
Not had any issues with the 7 in either hot or wet.
That does look pretty good value. I am looking for a tracker, I have been put off by the thought that my partner, if she downloads the app could track ME when I'm working "late".
I'm assuming it's a subscription per tracker and you can't have multiple on same account
Yes you can - I do!
However, the AirTag is so much smaller, lighter and easier to conceal.
err, yes, except you have to buy a reasonably modern iphone for £300+
Lots of people tell me how good AirTags are and so I bought a pack of 3 to test them out, in my experience they are very unreliable at providing up-to-date location information.
@@999pez As I understand it they do/can make an audible beep when connecting to an iphone, this is to prevent covert tracking/stalking of people.
@@999pez Here is what happens.
"Their location is not tracked by GPS, but by Bluetooth. An AirTag emits a Bluetooth signal that privately and securely connects to any any nearby iPhones. The location will be beamed back to your iPhone in the Find My app. For those worried about privacy, all AirTags are connected to a single Apple ID, so only those logged into an Apple device with that Apple ID can actually see the location of the AirTag."
This works a treat unless a thief has stolen your bike or stuff where there is no iPhone in range. Perhaps the moon, or if you are named Musk, Mars!
Great review and device, just what I'm looking for, although the price is £149 rather than £129 I think. Still, I think I'll pick one up. Just a shame they are on back order!
Yes apologies - that was the price when I made the video!
@@TheMissendenFlyer no worries, I blame rampant inflation!!
Your litter bin's very similar to my suspended carrier bag bin
Good to know!
Only issue is you hide it then have to either remove it to charge it more often than the 7 so if you don’t remove to charge it it’s going to be easy to find
Not sure I follow the logic here - besides, the battery lasts for ages between charges (up to two years)….way better than the 7
@@TheMissendenFlyer it doesn’t last 2 years the 7 does
@@TheMissendenFlyer did you rush this one through to get it live as the battery life is less and the price you say is for the 7 not the 9 the 9 is more expensive
