I just found this and I’m completely obsessed with it and I cannot stop listening to it. As far as cover songs go, I think this is one that is a complete improvement over the original. The emotion in this version feels like they lived it and then wrote it.
I LOVE Cage The Elephant & their original "Spiderhead", but this cover of the song by Grouplove takes me to another place when I listen to it... IT'S ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!
When I think about it, it's totally natural that Grouplove would be able to take a good crack at a Cage The Elephant song. They've got that same emotional resonance, the same type of musical construction. It's a really good match. I don't know why I was nervous going into this.

Before it was blocked in my country i would hear this song that was played on triple j radio. Before they played this song they had a johny cash version of their hit single at the time which was very delightful tolisten to.
This cover is such a twist to the original. I love it. And for the people who hate the cover for some reason I don't know. But you guys and gals need to know music is experimental and diverse. Being a singer/bass player in my own band I should know this. And I actually did a cover of this song with the type of indie rock style grouplove did and because of this get of there Butts.
I’ll be honest, I don’t like grouplove, and Cage The Elephant are literally one of my favorite rock bands. But grouploves version of this song is so much better lol.
I don't really like this one because its too slow and I liked the guitar in the original also they changed a lot of the notes in this one that don't really appeal to me.
eww they the took the standout sound of spider-head and turned it into typical indie rock bullshit, i am pretty big fan grouplove but good covers are supposed to add complexities to songs not generalize and simplify them
