    A true gem of a presentation John Vennari, well said!!! This is true Catholicism, very very hard to find nowadays. Jesus Christ's Church and the teachings given to her by the apostles to be faithfully kept to the end of time is the ONLY true faith where Satan has NO PLACE. Every other religion is either in some kind of compromise with Satan or directly Satanic. Read Fr Cuthbert's book on St Francis. It is one of the most edifying and uplifting books I have ever read.

    It's amazing how things change in such a short time. We know Pope Francis a little better. We also know God better as we watch the intimacy of a mother bird feeding her baby and know God created all of this. It's like opening many gifts from Him each day. We have an awesome God.

    Sincere question: How is being pro-life reconciled with being anti-environmentalist? Would not one want to protect the environment into which babies are born?

    • @TheFatimaCenter
      @TheFatimaCenter  6 лет назад +8

      The distinction must be made between a proper Christian regard for all of creation, and a diabolic elevation of environmental conservation to supposedly justify depopulation, etc.

    • @lysacasey
      @lysacasey 6 лет назад +1

      Thank you for this clarifying response. What are some environmental initiatives that hold a proper Christian regard for all of creation and do not supposedly justify depopulation, etc.?

      Cause and Effect! Without respect for human dignity, there cannot be respect for ecology or the environment of the natural world. Simple really. If we can't respect one another how can we be expected to respect ecology or the environment?

      They like to make up rules that benefit themselves, just like white supremacy, slavery, segregation, male dominance, most war, etc. If you are one of those rare Christians that do care about the environment, I encourage you to keep up the fight and continue speaking up for environmental consciousness.

    The problem with blaming the Second Vatican Council for literally everything is that it's a very easy game to play... 1) Find a problem or sin that has always existed in the world or human nature (greediness, for example)... 2) Say the Second Vatican Council abrogated our duties to that thing (all you have to do is commit calumny against the council, don't reason about and meditate on what the council actually said)... 3) Now blame every problem in the world and human nature in the modern age on the mere existence of Vatican II (example: "greed exists now because Vatican II said it's okay to be greedy!")... and finally 4) Profit... Sell lectures, books, devotionals...etc. to people for the purpose of elevating yourself as a lecturer and author while downplaying the Authority of the Magisterium in Rome and in her priests and bishops.
    That's the game being played.

      Thank you for your interest in this presentation. Where in the video was the reference made?

    • @Bouboukenka
      @Bouboukenka 7 лет назад +1

      I believe the reference was made around the 5-10 minute mark. After the introduction dealing with the sultan. John mentions the book as one of his main references for the talk, and says that it has no 'foo foo-ish' type material in it. That it is in a way the nitty and gritty of St. Francis.

    Good presentation for a non Franciscan.
    You are completely right. I went to "Franciscan Tradition" college back in the late 80s. The older friars were solid but the younger ones had a looser sense to them. I later became a secular Franciscan, but it didn't feel Franciscan. There were some good seculars for sure. There was a lot of hippie liberal stuff here and there. Lots of squishy social justice.
    The non Franciscans were the worst. They hijacked the identity of St. Francis. Disgusting. They turned him into a red comrade. The 70s version "Brother Sun, Sister Moon" was just awful. Didn't see a lot of it. The visit to the pope is the WORST!
    St. Francis is awesome. Wished there were Traddie Frankies.

    I hated St. Francis of Assisi, thought he was a betrayer of Catholic faith, only to realise what a great saint he was.. The one who said to his brothers we will convert or die.. All this while I was presented with a saint that was not St. Francis but vatican 2 ecumenical fantasy of him.. Thank you for this great talk..

    The message here seems to be void of anything in the spirit of that wonderful Christ presence known as Saint Francis of Assisi. The speaker comes across as intolerant, frustrated, and blinded by orthodoxy. The message of love emanating from the message of Francis, is absent here, instead, his message is one of intolerance; projecting an us vs.them mentality. Not the message of the Gospel!
