Wow! That was great;) Impressive, dj ing for 25 + years now, this was really good and also nice to see this controller does the job also instead of the more expensive ones!
OMG!!! Totally caught me of guard with Slick Rick. Then you went into the new Nas! You guys are amazing! Also great job at putting the 400 through it's paces! I believe with the 400 and 1000 Rekordbox DJ will gain a lot of new uses. I can't thank this channel enough for all you provide to the DJ culture! And the help you give to those seeking information about DJing. And to top it off the great Sunday skills sets you treat us with!! Thank you!!!

Crossfader hello, will a course for Roland DJ-202 appear soon? And, if not, will the course "Pioneer ddj SX2 beginner dj course" will be the best suited for me? I see in the description of the course that is suited for Roland DJ 808, but not for 202 though. And in this course you use Serato dj Pro, right? (coz I have access to the full version of searto with the expansion paks). I'm a beginner dj, but not a total noob in the music field. Ty!
Hey thanks for the comment. Our SX2 beginner course would definitely be suitable if you’re using Serato DJ Pro. We are in the process of consolidating all our Serato enabled controller courses together while adding specific content into them on the DDJ SB3 and Roland DJ 202. If you get the SX2 beginner course you will automatically get access to this extra content when it’s uploaded.
I'm actually returning my DDJ-1000 for this thing. Way cheaper and does almost as much stuff. That being said, if Pioneer comes out with something in between the 400 and the 1000, I think that will be the sweet spot for all DJs
I would love to get an honest answer on how much prep goes into something like this. Do you play it just on the fly, do you practice it 1 or 2 times? 5-10 times? or more? do you just think it through and play it then? I'm curious and would love a honest answer! I really liked it!
It mostly depends on the familiarity of the equipment/songs and the dj's musical sense. 1. Every set/routine has a set up time where he/she would insert cues to cut to during the performance (musical sense). 2. Then the dj will take time to play through the songs and experiment with different mixes (familiarity of songs and equipment) until they have found an optimal routine that can get a crowd excited for an extended period of time. 3. Then there is the practice period where the dj starts training on how to transition between songs and memorizing what to do and when to do it (familiarity of equipment) while laying the groundwork for which/where effects will be appropriate (familiarity of equipment and musical sense). Every step of the process can take different amounts of time depending on certain variables of musical difficulty, routine length, and even new discoveries to be added. The overall time to prepare a set can take a long time in general, but it also needs to be noted that a veteran dj might be able to put a routine together faster because of his/her familiarity to the discipline. In the end, it all comes down to how much time you are willing to put into it. A routine that was lazily rushed together will cause discourse among the crowd. But a routine that has been methodically and spiritually planned out with room to grow for new ideas in the future will always hit home for the dancing scene. But the bottom line is to have fun. Nobody likes a DJ that is a stick in the mud.
@@VokunG20 So, it's basically like with every other instrument. The whole procedure from new song to playing it live with a band can take a lot of time for a new player but the better you are the faster this gets. After a long time of playing live you start to have a huge repertoire which cuts off even more of the preparation time.
Fucking Skillz! This is why you went from 2 k subs to 85k in just a year. Not sure how much prep and practice you do to perform but regardless the end product is amazing.
