Aussie here. Seriously, everytime someone gets a non-Australian to try Vegemite they always prepare it wrong on purpose to get a reaction. Happens all the time on talk shows etc. The correct way is hot toast, a generous amount of butter and a small smear of Vegemite. It's considered as a condiment, like salt. You don't smother the toast with it as if it were ketchup

Nothing wrong with a Full English breakfast, shepherds pie, fish and chips, beef wellington, Yorkshire pudding, apple pie, steak and ale pie, chicken tikka masala, bangers and mash, Cornish pasty, scones, sandwiches, Lancashire hotpot. No reasonable person looks at those foods and says British food is horrible.
