I have AC and AMS2. These days I rarely if ever play AC but find myself on AMS2 or better still AMS2beta 24/7. The base game has F1 cars from every era and more than enough modern and historical tracks. But the best thing about AMS2 which you did not mention is its unsurpassed VR which must be the envy of every other driving game.
Assetto Corsa I reccomend trying the vrc models for f1 cars although they dont have all eras they have some notable ones such as alonsos renault from 2005,2024 f1 car(the best ac mod ive seen),2007 cars, and sennas mp 4/10 and other senna mp
I don't agree with Assetto Corsa getting the top spot, alongside AMS2. First of all, the whole F1 experience in it is a DIY project, where you have to get several mods together, and then make them work together. Then, if you're after multiplayer, you basically have to look for a league, and if you're after single player, you have to tune the entire thing for yourself. And even with tuning, the AI is not quite there. At least Automobilista 2 has several out-of-the-box custom AI files available online to alleviate the issue. I believe if you actually went through the trouble of doing a few races on each game, or a mini-championship, instead of just driving around one track and fantasizing about the rest, you'd realize how much hustle AC acually is and you'd be able to give a good judgment of whether it's worth all the trouble, when AMS2 provides much easier path and F1 games are basically plug-and-play in comparison.
As I said, it does depend on how much time you have / confidence with modding, out of the box AMS2 is far better, but the ceiling of what is possible with AC is higher
@@Matt212YT The ceiling is even higher on Unreal Engine. Just write your own F1 game from scratch. It's not really a plausible argument of where's the ceiling, when the amount of work necessary to reach it is unfeasible. At least that's how I see it.
