Another excellent video of the red R27s and R30s. I still remember back in the early 1970s, when they ran on the D, N and QJ trains. I remember when they ended their careers on the C train in 1993.

I’m glad you enjoyed it Dan! ☺️ thanks for sharing your wonderful memories as always! I was lucky enough to experience them on the C line when I was a kid, I was a huge fan of the R27/30 ever since ☺️

Although I like the R30 ‘Redbird’ scheme after post-GOH, I sort of prefer the almost total red scheme of the earlier R27/30s more. It reminds me of cherries. 🍒

Haha! I agree with you! Even though the post GOH R30 was my first favorite subway car, while working on the 1968-1970 marquis red ones and looking at all the pictures of it in nycsubway.org, I have really grown to appreciate its appearance ☺️ it’s a shame both color schemes were short lived. Let me know if you find any video of the 1968 red ones, I’ve been looking everywhere lol! If there is even any video it would probably be a slim chance the film is in color, but a man can hope!

I rode these cars for so many years growing up. From the 80’s in there silver n blue / graffiti stage till the GOH red scheme. One thing alot of people's probably don't know about the 27 R27's that was painted GOH red and trooped on into 1991 after the graffiti R27's was retired in 1989. And the non Rebuilt R30 Westinghouse units that was painted GOH red also retired in 1991. How 🤔 could you tell them apart was in the interior. The walls didn't have the fault light boxes like the GOH GE R30's

Wow thanks for sharing! I really had no idea how to tell them apart at all! I was only old enough to catch the GOH r30s on the C line, but it remains a wonderful childhood memory.

@@daveduce any help with any historical information on this R27/30/30a project , Don't hesitate to ask. I have the number's somewhere of the 27 R27's that was retired in 1991 that was painted GOH red if you wanted to model those too . And the Westinghouse R30's GOH painted cars that was kept until they were replaced by the GOH R30's

These are from a group of developers working on projects, I am assisting them . When they are completed they will be released and all the developers who worked on these projects will be in the credits.
