understatement but it would be nice if the subway actually went directly to LaGuardia or Idlewild. Lugging luggage on a bus is not ideal especially if there are no accommodations for it.
This is actually relatively easy compared to other cities. I’m from Boston, and if we want to get from Downtown to Logan Airport we have to board a train then a bus, or sometimes 2 different buses. As far as I know NO cities have stops right at airports, like under the terminals.
@@TheOldSalt… most major cities in the US and Canada with rail transit have a direct route to one or more of their airports where the trains stop directly at at-least one of the terminals. The difference with the MTA is that the rail lines pre-date the airports
@@metropod MBTA doesn’t do that. Their trains stop at least half a mile away from the Airport. You have to switch from a train to a bus to get to any of the terminals
I agree with you but the way LGA is set up there mad buildings and highways in the way, building over the highway is out of the question and NIMBYS have shot the idea down of a LRT or Monairal to LGA so we're stuck with the Q70 for the foreseeable future
Build dedicated rail service to the terminal and catch up with the rest of the world. The bus gets stuck in traffic, is limited and makes stops too frequently
If you don't want to listen to the video and would like to read, here's the routes that take you to LGA Airport. M60-SBS (Starts at Broadway and 106th St) (All terminals) Q47 (Starts at Cooper Ave and 80th St) (Terminal A only) Q48 (Starts in Flushing) (All terminals) Q70-SBS (Starts at Woodside) (Terminal B and C) Q72 (Starts in Rego Park) (Terminal B and C) Note that this video only includes the M60-SBS and Q70-SBS, so I'm doing a favor by telling you every single one
I know this comment might just be ignored, but I suggest you build a shuttle service or an air train from Jackson Blvd to LGA, that way commuters would have access to the MNRR LIRR and 20 other lines just by taking the (7). Obviously this would greatly boost ridership but I just wanted to add in that fact.
Of course it will be ignored, an entire city isn't gonna make an entire new transit line that costs thousands or even millions of dollars because of one youtube comment.
The money spent for that will be better served extending the N & W to LaGuardia. On top of that, the 7 Train is PACKED. The last thing the 7 needs will be lots of people on that train with big luggage blocking space where people could be. The trains on the N & W are bigger and would be so much better for something like this.
Directions: 1. N or W train to Astoria Blvd to take M60 SBS to Laguardia Airport. 2. 7 train to Junction Blvd to take Q72 bus to Laguardia Airport 3. 7 train to 111 Street, Mets Willets Point, or Flushing Main Street to take Q48 Bus to Laguardia Airport. 4. LIRR to Mets Willets Point or Flushing Main Street to take Q48 bus to Laguardia Airport.
I do wish there would be an extension of the N/W to Bayside, via LaGuardia Airport of course. Another proposal would be to build an AirTrain but I think sending the subway there would be a better alternative. Don’t really care about what the NIMBY’s have to say.
Hey MTA, you should get in the story Boulevard the N & W train not to mention the elevator is larger there it’s less crowded and you’re still getting to my head and a grand total of 40 minutes at most ..
cool but when are you going to install actually helpful signage at 74th-Roosevelt so people aren't constantly getting on the Q70 to Woodside and not LaGuardia
Or take the 4 line to Grand Central, transfer to the 7 line to Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to a N or W train to Astoria Blvd, take the M60 SBS and there you go.
We need the N & W Train to go directly to LaGuardia Airport. Period.
there is literally no point that is so stupid lol
PREACH!!!
It gotta do a sharp ass turn tho. But im for it
When that’s done the center express track which has been unused since 2002 could be worth using again.

It doesn’t cost 2 bucks to make an entire new train line, especially not in the US’s current economy situation.
Take it up with the state of NY. MTA is just trying to work with what they’ve got.
Just extend the (N)(W) trains there!
I belive that is the plan. There was funding approved for an AIr-Train like JFK but the MTA wanted to extend the N and W directly instead.
Didn’t they cancel the plan to extend the (N)(W) trains there because the people in the neighborhood said they didn’t want it?
@@railfanner-MaxPlati idk, all I know is there was a plan
@@railfanner-MaxPlati Yes, your are correct.
what a shame.
Way too complicated. Build a train straight there
Tell that to the NIMBY's who are preventing that from happening.
Massive L when the extention from the Astoria line to LGA was cancelled.
Yeah bruh i got some pocket money and a weekend. I can easily build a whole train line to LGA

The bus doesn’t stop at every terminal?
How to get to LaGuardia Airport: Suffer
Take The ACBD12345 And 6 Train To 125Th St M60SBS To The Laugria Airport
You forgot about the Q47, Q48, and the Q72.
extend the subway to LGA
Or make an Air Train
@NewYorkBall557Official that just got cancelled so the best bet for rail to the airport is a Subway extension.

what if I were in the Bronx or on Staten Island?
Why did the A train that I was on skip 175th st

Well it depends on where you live

if your arriving at LaGuardia, you don't need to know how to get there, YOU'RE ALREADY THERE!
Just extend the N and W directly to there
cool but when are you going to install actually helpful signage at 74th-Roosevelt so people aren't constantly getting on the Q70 to Woodside and not LaGuardia
Just make The Y train (so make a new line) to laguardia
Actually, take the N or W 🚇 to Astoria Boulevard & catch the M60 for Terminals 🅰️ & D
That’s what I do when I have to go to LaGuardia. It’s quick faster less crowded in the elevators work.
That bus gets extremely crowded
Am I the only New Yorker that never been to Staten Island? ( I was born in queens)
I just took a trip from LaGuardia to Chicago. At O’hare, I got on the blue line that went straight to downtown. We can do better than this MTA
Nice video, mta.
If you live in The Bronx... take a taxi
Or take the 4 line to Grand Central, transfer to the 7 line to Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to a N or W train to Astoria Blvd, take the M60 SBS and there you go.
Awesome video and explanation 🙌🏽💪🏽
Clicked on this faster than the Q70 with no traffic on the road!
Option 4: take your car, it’s the fastest way
Definitely not
you need to leave the house well in advance and, if possible, have money for a taxi. At any time, MTA can cancel the trip, or get stuck somewhere.
