The fact that you had a pump onsite for this job speaks volumes.. I don’t think people understand that. I am in a completely different line of work but I see the value in all the details you provide. Ultimately it is all those small details as to why your work stands out from the rest. Thanks for the content!
Great driveway replacement! The drone videos fit in seamlessly with the stationary and hand held cameras. Would never know it was a first timer doing the aerial shots. Your editing is also spot on, great continuity from beginning to end of job. You cover all the bases Dave.
Woow another excellent video/job Mr.Dave where did you say this was in AZ. Yeah he did a great job all about the angles 👏 /details that help elevate a video keep sending it bro 😏🤙🙌
The aerial views, in work, during and after, of the completed project give a new prospective of how great it looks before and after completed! Tough luck on the drone crash! Live and learn and now knows what to expect luckily with minimal to hardly no damage! 👍 He got some good shots! Don't know if you heard? Someone was flying the same drone model you have over the fire in the Pacific Palisades and almost took out one of the Canadian fire fighting super scooper planes. Caused a considerable amount of damage on the wings leading edge that it was grounded from fighting the fire until it could get repaired. News said the FBI identified the drone model from the crashed parts of it they located and are trying to trace it back to the owner to prosecute!
That’s one of the reasons any drones over 249 grams require registration. Operating the drone for business purposes, as it is here, also requires the pilot have an FAA part 107 license and the drone be registered, regardless of its weight.
That concrete is much stiffer than the usual soup I see you guys pouring. Is it typically the plant that screws up the slump or do you guys add water when it arrives?
In Arizona the soil has liken and it leaches into cinderblocks and concrete over time destroying it. Also I think it has to do with the hard water. In the city of maricopa a builder was gong to get sued because the walls around a community looked like that driveway. At the bottom of the walls the wall was all eaten up. The compromise was peal back the dirt and rubberized it to stop it from desterirating the wall base.
@OdellCompleteConcrete. Fair price and very nice work! One thing I've been asking myself, since you work from what I understand in California and arizona most of times, is why do you concern so much with drainage, I mean it's basically desert out there right? Or semi desert. Do you get a lot of rainfall at one time? Like severe summer thunderstorms? In this job for example, was the basin with a pump needed, couldn't the rainwater just drain on the ground where the pine tree is, and be absorbed? Greetings from romania!
@@ignilc I live in the Phoenix area, (desert) We tend to get rain only a couple times a year, annual rain fall averages about 7 inches per year and we only got about 4 1/2 last year. The problem is the ground is so compact and hard that it doesn't absorb very fast. It can cause short term flooding if we get too much too quick. I have a parking area next to my driveway that is crushed granite and there is a small depression in it. If we get a good rain it will puddle in that depression and can take DAYS to absorb and go away.
Hello, I'm not a concrete worker just trying to learn, what is the purpose of lifting the metal mesh when pouring if the guy finishing is stepping in it, and you can see the mesh doesn't have any spacers? Thanks!!
@odellcompletecobstruction Can you build a cinder block wall on a footing first then later put a slab in the center for a 30x40 backyard garage? I would like to do it this way to break up the cost until I have enough for the slab. And till have a areal to build a garage on.
drone shots were fine. but i prefer the handheld views for the closeup details. The closeup shots seem blurry or out of focus. i think the camera on those are designed for far away landscape shots not close up. good work on this job. another quality jpb
@ lucky. In my area it’s almost 300 for a cubic yard these days and there is no other supplier for 60 miles each way. Least it’s fiber Crete but still. Stupid high. LOL
what I see in a lot of videos is the author never talks about the times. Time to trow, to bull float to do the finishing stuff. Can you tell us when is a good time to do these things from beginning to end.
you said there was wire even though you said it was rusted i think it should of held that concrete some it looks like it did not do nothing for it then number two looks like pour sub base there
The drone is great, it adds a very good overview of the quality of your work. Also joke alert, to every every comment about pretty concrete We husbands need to make two prettys to our wives if we know whats good for us. 😄
I don't like the lines placed in the cement. I have several pours at my lot and the finisher used none and I have no cracks for many years. Smooth, without dirt catcher grooves. I've had other lots with pours without those grooves and none were a problem. Never got a crack. Maybe instead of using bad cement you could get better grade and avoid all those lines/grooves. I worked union construction in DC for years and we never inserted lines in cement. We had pours that were 2 blocks long over 100 truck loads and no lines/grooves. This fascination with grooves and lines and designs in the cement are foolish.

Same to you
Great job crew 👏👍💪Customers had to love this one. Great drone work too 🤙
Appreciate that! They were stoked.
You make pouring a driveway in the desert so relaxing, Dave. (drone shots are a great addition, nicely done)
It's the meditative hum of the concrete truck.
Professional and entertaining video work. More lingering closeups would make it perfect. Great concrete work as usual!

We will give that a try
Your kids back home are good.. but your videos are way better, I like your work better also

Sounds about right. Should be easy to trace to Owner. They are connected to satellites and phone at the same time, or was it something else?

Drone shots were good! nice repair job too, thanks for the tutorial! Which drone did you use?

@OdellCompleteConcrete thank you I have one but not that great., I wanted to use it for the same purpose you're using it landscape design

Thanks! It's a real sweetheart deal
Nice drone footage!
Thanks!
That concrete is much stiffer than the usual soup I see you guys pouring. Is it typically the plant that screws up the slump or do you guys add water when it arrives?
The pumper and the plant can ruin your concrete.

Nice work! But are you the best in the west?
No, more like west, north, east and south
@@OdellCompleteConcrete😄 love the answer.
Don't cut yourself short
What do you recommend I had to my 60# bag of concrete to speed up the process? Colder weather is taking too long to set.
The red bag, quick setting
Can you do a breakdown cost on a partial job like that?
3500
Thought you might have tied it into the existing slabs to stop any up and down action!👍
The adjoining concrete wasn't good enough to tie in to.
How come there is no base added, like limerock? I think I've seen others use. Maybe the rock is just needed for colder areas that have frost/freezes?
True, for quick water run away before freeze and heave
Wanted to see the garage concrete repair to see how it looked when it dried
