Mint-tan is not only an illustrator but she’s truly a designer graduate as well, thats why she’s great at choosing color and understand the object placement.
I never realized mint tan was such a big scara fan, i've seen their commissioned works but didnt realize they also drew some of my favorite fanarts. Thank you for the video. the coloring is gorgeous and i feel like i understand it better now!
I actually consider it a blessing that such a wonderful artist happens to love my favourite character, haha. They always draw him so beautifully, I could look at their art of him for hours and I wouldn't mind.
This is very helpful!!! Their colouring is smth I wish to be able to do, so breaking down the patterns that contribute to their art style is so amazing! Always love your art style studies, keep up the good work ❤ I think what might be different between the art and Mint Tan's might be: - needing more triangular shapes (those make things a lot more appealing for some reason!) - more contrast (the majority of brightest values should be facing the moonlight) - and c and s-curve lines!
omg thats a really good study, tysm!! i love their illustrations too and i've been wanting to learn their shading and coloring procress 💞💕 also, i always feel like you're reading too much info (which is awesome) but too fast, and hard for me to keep track with everything, especially with this type of studies where there is a lot of technical info 😭😭 I always have to watch your art style study videos in 0.75 or 0.50 speed to focus and catch all the info lol maybe a little pause each time u change the subject/the thing that u were talking about? idk like when youre talking about highlights in the hair and then start talking about something different withouth a small pause. but maybe im too slow, idk sorry 😭 anyways, i love your illustration!! i feel like it could've a more dramatic shadow and lighting since the moon its behinds your oc. but its a really cute art 💕 great video and super helpfull! ty for sharing!! i'll be waiting for the next one 😈
Thank you for the feedback it's very helpful to hear, I want to keep that in mind for my future videos ♡ also for the feedback on the illustration that's a good point👍🏻
I think when I started, my art was really really bad but as I continued drawing through the years (not everyday) I saw the improvement!!! So my advice to you would be to draw but also have fun doing it , don’t think of drawing as a chore. And just try to connect with it!

Your paint studies are very thorough, I will have to watch this later after I'm done studying to focus on the theory properly.
