Absolutely spot on about Wilson. I was thinking about this today when we got the news that Isak might be unavailable vs Fulham - It's actually made me more angry about the Wilson situation. With Isak being injured Wilson has to come into the discussion because we cannot keep flogging Isak all the time because he will get injured, and when he does we'll have no strikers because Wilson is always out. HOW is Wilson still injured?? He's missed almost 50% of games since he signed for us which is absolutely ridiculous
It's too much. - L
Good discussion jurnos. Glad everyone appreciates Tripps and realise Tino still has some learning to do. Not feeling confident for the Fulham match - hope I'm wrong.
I'm not either. - L
PSG highlights just came in my feed. That pass from trips for Longstaff goal was something we need in the side!
I agree with Tonali, Bruno and Longstaff from the start. Tonali's legs on the left will help with the pace of Traore but I think Kelly has to start at LB regardless of who is in midfield.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. - L
Bang on Liam re Wilson, I mean if Osula doesn't start against Wimbledon or at least get on the pitch then there's something definitely a miss.
If Osula doesn't start against Wimbledon then Eddie has to be honest with the fans otherwise it will start to eat away at the club
Lads, the reality is these days PL football is very technical. Eddie and most other PL Mangers ask CF’s to do a lot of work off the ball ie start the “press” etc and defend from the front. I’m sure Osula will get there with great coaching from EH. That might not be in time for this Sat in Fulham unfortunately. Different story if we are at home and 3-0 up and he brings him on for the last 30 mins
Lads, re Barnes or Gordon I don’t think it works like that. I think EH looks at the opposition and then their weaknesses and then decides who plays left and right etc depending on the tactical plan
Hang on lads, just gotta go up into my loft and look for my coaching badges 😂😂😂😂
@@shearer63 aye, because you need to have a coaching badge to have an opinion on football. 😴
Joe Wilock when fit is class but every time he goes down under any challange i wince on his behalf. Would love him to get through the rest of the season fit.
😅
Glad I didn’t turn off after Liam’s shocking Trippier/Livramento shout to hear my shoutout. Cheers lads! 😂
Regarding Longstaff Newcastle want to be a top 4/6 team name me a top4/6 team where Longstaff would start that’s the problem He offers very little in my opinion people need to separate Longstaff the canny local lad and Longstaff the average footballer he is a squad player nothing more nothing less not a starter and definitely not starting over Tonali and regarding Barnes at this moment in time he should start on the left over Gordon got to think how many points would we be on without Barnes
We know that Eddie’s friendship goes a long way with Wilson and it’s clear like a few other players there time is up, hopefully Mitchell will do his job, set up a fit for purpose transfer policy and look to replace starting January.
People seem to be forgetting that Wilson is a top class striker. We simply haven’t had the money in the last two windows to even think about replacing him, instead we bought for the future. My guess is that Eddie was simply being pragmatic and taking the view that if he has Wilson fit for a few games, he’ll get goals and he can rest Isak. Don’t kid yourself that Mitchell has a magic wand and will be able to sell him for a fortune in January and replace him with another top class striker. It’s not going to happen.
Tripps is our best RB. He offers so much than Tino who is lousy with set pieces and crossing. I would start Tripps every game unless it is 3 games per week. Miggy on the right, Gordon up top, and Barnes left. Tonali, Willock and Bruno in midfield. There is no point playing Jacob without a target man.
Mad how many wanted to write him off, too. - L
Hi lads completely agree about Wilson Osula is a danish intonation striker all be it under 21s give the lad a chance you never know
I couldn’t agree more about Wilson , I think it’s a total disgrace he’s still here. I think he’s should be ashamed of himself that he’s here robbing a living while he’s never fit . If the wind is to strong it would snap an eyelash and he would be out for 6 months. Why not give the young lad a chance if isak is unfit. I think he would offer more there instead of Gordon.
I keep hearing about Lewis Hall being defensively poor and Lloyd Kelly being the more solid option .. however, when Brennan Johnston came on for Spurs he had Kelly on toast until Hall came on and immediately nullified him… I think we have to stick with Hall and allow him to grow, the better option would be to play Kelly as left centre half where he has extra pace and could cover Hall a bit better than Burn AND can also pass a’la Schar from that side.
And Kelly backing off at Bournemouth also caused us problems, again until Hall came on
@@SensibleMoniker . Exactly, it’s lazy to pretend Hall isn’t the best defensive option just because Kelly is the centre half .. it’s completely different being pulled out wide at left back .
Gordon I believe can play as a striker but only in a front two (as he did for England U21s), as a lone central striker he struggles
Is that right, though? I seem to remember him more as a false nine in a three. Genuine question.
He was a lonely central striker with wide support, as he will be tomorrow, no doubt. - L
Good video lads, so many conundrums to ponder, i think i will just hoy an opinion in.
So, my team would be.
Pope, Tino, Kelly, Schar, Burn, Joelinton, Bruno, Tonali, Barnes, Isak, Gordon.
If Isak is injured will Eddie play Gordon through the middle and Willock out wide?,
looks like he won't start Osula doesn't it.
PS, I've still got tons of faith in big Joe, and opposing players for sure don't like playing against him, oh and Jordan for me Lloyd Kelly is a better centre half than full back, even though i said Kelly plays full back on Saturday, i would love to see Kelly and Schar at centre back at some time get a run, two ball playing composed individuals, and that would settle Pope in goal as well. 😉
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. - L
Great video guys. Gibbo mentioned Joelinton has been carrying a groin injury and it is limiting his training. Odd if true because we see him training & in the gym but could explain his form. I think Gordon has to start up front, we cannot risk Isak if he is carrying a knock he needs to rest til City.
Mad. - L
Great content lads, thank you.
Does Wilson want to (or care about) playing again, being available for 50% of games is poor. A percentage rate that worsens after each game he misses...not quite Marcelino but bad enough.
52m pet projects Hall and Osula we couldn’t afford 1 let alone 2 then sell Minteh and Anderson. Eales is not fit for purpose
Maybe. - L
Signing Osula for the future is a good move, but he should either be sent on loan or should play, given the two main strikers are out.
Serious comment this time. Fullbacks got to be Trips and Kelly, it shouldn’t even be a question. Midfield simply got to drop Joelinton and Longstaff for Tonali and Willock, Bruno gets in only because he is captain ( he has not fired yet and is so slow a shadow of player he can be). Up front if Isak fit play both Gordon and Barnes on either wing and let them roam and swap side to side. We have got to start creating chances for whomever is CF. Wilson should’ve been sold in January! Osula well you only get experience by playing. If Isak not fit probably Gordon thro middle but he doesn’t like playing with his back to goal so Joelinton maybe a possibility! Just my thoughts
All players have dips in form, we know this. Various reasons, equally obvious statement. I doubt very much that Joelinton needs a 'kick up the arse', but he needs to come out of the team until he regains his touch on the training pitch.
Willock fear factor J. Me too (my fear as well). Impact subs!
Fantastic video guys.
Thanks so much! - L
Did you see Tripps against Wolves? ran on the pitch rushed players around the freekick away saying its mine move and then couldn't beat the 1st man with his cross. Classic 😆 his deliveries from frees and corners last 12months are awful.
He was good overall, though. - L
Watching from Bali 🖤🤍
😎
Are people really writing Trips off? OK, there a few -ve comments. But I don’t see many folk writing him off.
There’s a lot about Lewis Hall being a poor defender which isn’t fair as he’s clearly been told to bomb forward.
Seen loads. - L
Give Osalu a start hopefully he's not wasted money, Hall is in my eyes.... remember when Howe wouldn't play Hall game after game.
Tripps in for tino - Big Joelinton up top, gordon left, barnes right, willock, bruno, tonali / longstaff in middle
No to Joe up top. Makes me shudder. - L
Good debate for what its worth for me fullbacks would be
Trips and Kelly
Midfield would be
Tonali Bruno Willock ( but if not Willock because of fitness then I’d Agee with Liam longstaff)
Forwards
If Isak fit then Gordon Barnes Isak
If he isn’t then we don’t have a central striker option because Gordon may have had a good under 21 euros but playing there in an under age tournament is a world away from the EPL. But as you say no other option so
Barnes Gordon Murphy
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. - L
I would love it if kelly and trips started on saturday
Willy Arsolo v Cottagers. He can do a rear guard action on or off the bench.
Bum take. - L
Trippier should only play 30 last mins
Crazy idea, if Isak is out this Saturday: Barnes as striker. He has a much better touch than Gordan. I don't think Gordan makes that Wilson-esque stab goal that Harvey made against Spurs. I am a little crazy though...
He won't, but not a bad shout. - L
Tripps over Tino everytime for me. Hall isn't a defender, I've never rated the lad, positional play is poor.
Has to keep learning. - L
Hall is good going forward but always a worry defensively
Agree. - L
Maybe Isak’s eye injury caused him to stub his toe?
😄
I wouldn't mind Osula getting a start against Fulham tbh, he's a 9 looks like a great prospect so let's get him in the side and see how it works.
We should be beating a quality shy Fulham anyway.
They're not bad btw. Don't underestimate. - L
@@GeordieJournos they are a team we should be looking to beat regardless, we have a better team.
We should play osula
Our two strikers are made of glass, I could see a future without either Isak and Wilson. Love Big Joe but he needs a rest so Willock to start. Take your boots to Craven Cottage as we may need an emergency striker.
If Osula was on the bench why if he is not going to play him
Like Hall. - L
Why put Osula on the bench if he is not ready?..give him a chance to play,Wilson is finished not worth his place now
He's the pet project this season. - L
Could we not throw Joelinton up top just as a battering ram if nothing else.
He's definitely no striker. - L
correct Liam - his record is now an embarrassment and his position pointless if he cannot play. sadly, a waste of a shirt
No use being injured. - L
Strategic investment? FFS play the lad!! imo Gordon is 💯 not a striker….instead of the BIG…it should be if Isak has stubbed his toe😮 the Notorious BOG 😂
👌
Krafu player of season for me
Not a bad shout. - L
Wilson will be fit in October (2025)!
Hmmmm. - L
longstaff is massively under rated just because we didn't spend to bring him in imo
J7 awful? MOTM v saints and MOTM v spurs....?
Maybe away from home he has not been as good?
Both home games he was MOTM
Opinions. Not for me. - L
@@GeordieJournos go look at both match reports from premier league he was MOTM v saints and spurs..... How many match winners has longstaff scored in the prem the season?
Getting a bit excited with these "big calls" carry on 😂🤣😄🤣
😉
Good laugh guys! Can I have a pint of what you 3 been drinking 🤣🤣🤣
Always! - L
Want to hear the big news now😂
It'll be public soon enough. - L
I hope yous haven't jinxed Pope! 😂
😄
I would play Barnes and Gordon up front and Joelinton as a fake 9/number 10, and Willock um midfield.
Pope
Livramento, Schar, Burn, Kelly
Tonali, Bruno, Willock
Joelinton
Gordon, Barnes
Interesting. - L
Sponsor 😂
Massive selection calls for Saturday leading onto the Man City game - I see the Fulham match almost as a trial run for the City game.
Some issues.
IF Isak is out that is a big problem but he has only scored once this season.
The midfield has not perfomed either as defensive cover or attacking supplier.
Gordon and Barnes both want to play on the left wing.
Trippier did make loads of mistakes last season.
My answers may surprise you.
If Howe sticks with 4-3-3 then this is what I go with:
Pope
Trippier Kraft Schar Kelly
Tino Sandro Hall
Willock Osula Barnes
Tino and Hall midfield? - L
If Eddie don’t start playing our best players in the starting 11 sack his arse longstaff and burn ain’t winning us nothing
Tucking in isn’t the same thing as inverted. Trippier is light years ahead of Trippier and that’s why we need Livramento learning from him for as long as possible.
It's literally what's happening. But I'm no tactico, so pardon clunky language. - L
