    With the crane shots of Mercedes and Red Bull underfloor while they were dangling in the air at least 6-7 storey high, their aero analysis could be completed. I didn’t expect Monaco 2023 to deliver so much.

    I guess you know that front heave units on current cars are almost incompressible, and any pitch under braking comes from the rear-end lifting. If an increased anti dive made a noticeable difference, then they would have done that already, or would have used those many other tools available to keep the front RH constant under braking.
    It's very weird that you come up with the driver feel (obviously I know that it was F1dataanalysis who spread this all over), while you know that the pitch stiffness is insanely high on all the cars, and the driver mainly feels the G forces (not the pitch), which is not affected by anti dive at all.
    I acknowledge your knowledge and experience, this is why it's very surprising for me to hear such things from you.

      Hi Jozsef , thanks for you comment mate. I see what you mean regarding the stiffness of the front suspension in F1 cars being a factor that I did not account for. Good shout !!

    Great video!! I especially liked the floor update details as they all look the same for teams. Although, I doubt that the Merc's gap to the RB is 2/3 tenths; from what we have seen, it might be closer to 1/1.5 sec range as acknowledged by Toto himself. The truth is we don't even know the gap because the RB has not been under performance pressure at all. I have a question though - If we assume that all teams are able to come up with great mechanical platform next year; what is your prediction for the aero philosophies? Does it matter if it is in-wash vs downwash with similar mechanical control? The reason I ask this is because the only way I see RB being beaten is when someone is able to use the wind tunnel time better - Aston, if not this year then next year. Merc has shown with this upgrade why they won 8 titles in a row; I am sure they will be competitive but beating RB seems another 2 years away

      Provided the mechanical platform is the same... The aero philosophy makes all the difference.

    great video as always. question about the mid wing.. you showed in the cfd work that the inside corner of the car doesnt get as much airflow from the midwing due to the lateral shift of the vortex, so do you think the sidepod has helped with keeping the inside corner vortex further out and thus aiding rear downforce? To my eye it doesnt seem so. do you think mercedes could invert the midwing profile, making the vortex bring in airflow from the side, like the aston martin did in the cfd video?
    second question, what is the point of the dimple on the upper side of the redbull sidepod? And how can redbull bring so much airflow and rear downforce without the gulley bringing down extra air?

      @@f1aerodynamicist could be interesting to compare to the Aston Martin with the proper water slide geometry since there was some issue with the last video, or to compare with the old w14 to see what Mercedes is chasing.. either way, keep up the awesome videos!

    Looking at the performance of the car seems it was not as stable and clean drive compared to RedBull. I am not sure how they are planning to beat this monstrous Red Bull performance

    Yep, I'd love to see a floor analysis.
