I know it's early but I just can't see Shane making a bad special. Half of what makes him so funny is he seems to enjoy being up there telling stories like he's just talking to his friends. All those "dude"! and "ya know?"'s make it conversational. And you have to be able to see the video to really get his act because he does a lot of silent gesturing. Great comic.
One of the most brilliant specials in recent times. Gillis is funnier now than most veteran comics are with 10-20+ of experience. Absolute gold the whole way through

Bill Burr’s first time on stage was almost 32 years ago. It takes a long time for stand up comics just to get good, let alone break out and have mainstream success. Even Matt Rife, who’s blowing up now while fairly young (28), has been doing stand up on stage for 13+ years.

For example Chris Rock was only 12 years into comedy when he produced Bring The Pain which is considered by many one of the greatest specials ever. Have you seen recent Louis Ck or Dave Chappelle specials? They are clearly better just because of their experience. And that’s just the well known comedians. I could list many more lesser known comedians that you probably don’t know. Shane is very talented and I’m a big fan myself but he’s also not some prodigy like you seem to think he is. Do yourself a favor and listen to more comedy and you will learn that there are a lot of comedians out there with the same level or even more talent. One of my favorite comics ever, and one of the bests in the circuit. Easily!
