- Sam from Margaret Valley Landscaping shares her tips on transplanting perennials in the spring. 🌺
1 - Dig straight down around the dormant perennial without lifting. Once all the way around, pop the perennial out
2 - Dig the hole at the new location
3 - Add 1/2 cup bone meal to the new hole and mix in with the soil; it helps the roots to re-establish and helps prevent transplant shock
4 - Move the perennial to it's new location, add a little soil and water in
5 - Fully backfill the new hole and water again
