Ronnie was a great guitarist. Too bad his depression got the best of him. BTW in the mid 1980s I had a copy of "Guitar For The Practicing Musician" with a guitar roundtable including Ronnie Montrose. It is a must read if you enjoy Ronnie's music and style. I do not remember what month or year. RIP Ronnie
He does. Ronnie played guitar on Van Morrison's "Wild Night" and "Tupelo Honey". Both songs have received a lot of airplay, then and now. Also played guitar on Van's song "Jackie Wilson Said(I'm In Heaven When You Smile)" from the album "Saint Dominic's Preview".
I've seen Montrose at winterland in San Francisco, several times. With Sammy, Davey, Wolfgang' The last time was at Mcnears in Petaluma. He passed a few months after. He is my favorite guitarist.
Liked him since he played with Edgar Winter on "They Only Come Out At Night" album. You know, FREE RIDE, FRANKENSTEIN and others. His debut album is the greatest rock album ever in my mind. 8 killer tracks.
All I can say is Ronnie Montrose never got the recognition he deserved for his awesome guitar playing
One of the best guitar player to ever live
Ronnie was way, way ahead of his time for sure. He'll live forever in his performances. RIP.
ABSOLUTELY !!!!!
Fantastic shredding guitarist I have seen him many times, solo, with Sammy and with Gamma. He rocks in heaven. RIP Ronnie
Legend.
Excellent , I've seen him in the 90's in Mulhouse (France) at the "Night of the guitar"
Great show !
I will never forget .

Montrose saw him in NYC twice once with Gamma . Great guitar player who was underrated. Never got air play . He influenced many guitarists in 70’s .

So true. Warner Bros. did not promote him. Back then it was only radio.

"Blood Alley" from the Guitar Speak CD 1991
Liked him since he played with Edgar Winter on "They Only Come Out At Night" album. You know, FREE RIDE, FRANKENSTEIN and others. His debut album is the greatest rock album ever in my mind. 8 killer tracks.
MONTROSE was the greatest pure rock album of all time. Every great guitarist has this album.
I down vote because he could have rolled with the G3 lineups!
Dude was great! What the hell!?
He's playing Blood Alley from the "guitar speak" cds. But why is the volume so low?
What do you mean? The song is blasting loud and clear.
Thanks! I was searchin for this hint for 10 years ^^
When and where was this concert?
What song is this? And what album is it off of?
Blood alley from a compilation called guitar speak that came out in the early 90s
his tone is way better than Satriani.
Audio is terrible on this , too bad
