I am now completely addicted to mudlarking videos. We rarely have this much fun digging in the USA. My daughter and her family do find lots of shed antlers because we have a huge deer population here. Hope someday to find the outhouse pit of our 126-year-old house-
You go get a map of the town when your house was first built and go back a little ways not too far from the back of the house.
Check out Under the Plains. He does it all the time in the Dakotas.
The three Musketeers of Mudlarking = the three Mucketeers. Love the underwater footage. Look like a fun outing! 😊
Haha. Might have to steal that! 😉
@@Sifinds You most certainly can steal it as long as I get credit :)
i am 70 when i was a child it was tradition to throw a coin into water when you went over a bridge...
u are 70 year old and still Skint lol
I got such a kick last week outta u and ur friends working together and laughing/teasing. Need more of this!! ❤️
Watching this like “oooh that looks like fun!” Sees the leeches “...hm, maybe not.” Lol
That bell is so pretty! Someone took a lot of pride in the appearance of their livestock.
Beautiful place and very nice day
Am I the only one who finds it more amusing to call them “scrotal bells?” 😂
Si had a video where they were metal detecting in a plowed up field and they all found these bells...I, honestly, thought they were calling them scrotal bells! Si was like "does your bell still ring?" and I was cracking up! I found out later the real name, but they will always be "scrotal bells" to me. 🤣
Nope
mymagiclieswithin I love this 😂
Mudlover Excellent finds enjoy watching u n friends. laughing together it fun beautiful video love it 👣👣💯👌🌸
Thanks my friend!
@@Sifinds my pleasure mudlover 👍👣
Great Sunday viewing thank you for sharing Si
Enjoyed part 2, and the design on the crotal bell is amazing ! 🌍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🌍
Thanks Susan!
@@Sifinds give the duck to Nichole☺️
The cowel bell is gorgeous, they are some of my favorite finds!
I have no idea about the bent coins, every one of your musings, sound plausible...but I hope that they either, were love tokens or children's wishes..always the romantic 💙😊
Thx Si - love from Denmark 🌸 💕
I look forward to Sunday videos, always exciting 😍
I agree. My Sunday mornings always start off with Si and Nic. Would be a dream bucket lister to join either of these on their adventures..but of course Nic would be the top dream as she is so beautiful , sorry Si.
Oh my, the crotal bell is gorgeous! Great video Si, though remembering 'The Dave Clark five' makes me feel very old! 😂 x
Haha. Love that tune!
@@Sifinds me too!x
What a team! Good work cleaning the bell Si, it looks awesome! X
Thanks Beth! Very happy with the decoration it revealed. Decoration on both halves proves it’s age. 🐾🧡
I so love your giggle Simon!
Thanks Mudlover! 👣🧡
The craftsmanship of the bell is beautiful.
Right!
Messing about in rivers with mates in summer is one of the best things ever. Looks like a most excellent day was had 👍
Indeed it was! Thanks Mudlover! 👣🧡
Clearly a Troll used to live under the bridge!
Haha!
Love that bell and the old coins. That duck would look good on Nic’s toy shelf. Keep up the great videos. I look forward to them. 👍
Thanks Patti!
I'm in TX, USA, and it's unlikely I'll ever make it to the Thames, but thank you for putting that little disclaimer on your end screen; I had no idea permits were required. I feel like that's something I needed to know, although I don't know why!
Angie Does Stuff : I’m in California. I would love to mudlark if I ever get to visit Great Britain. I know you need a permit on the Thames, but I watch other mudlarks from other areas and they mudlark other rivers and streams and beaches. They make no mention of the need for a permit.
Patti Messenger you can do this sort of stuff in most places unless it’s private land or has a specific need for a permit, which isn’t very often. Thanks.
Awesome Sunday morning with Si and friends!!! My fav morning of the week! Thanks Si❤️❤️
Ah thank you so much!!
Sure do enjoy following you about, Si. You've got a great team with you, too. That was a lovely stream. Hitting pause, for your living history show. Thank you, very much.
Aw so nice of you to say Mudlover! 🐾🧡
I cant imagine carrying around a pocket full of pennies that size. It would be hard to keep your pants up.
maybe that is why they find so many. Someone couldn't hold his pants up
@@gccurry1 Lol
gayle curry poor guy had been saving up for a century to buy a new belt😮
The beginning of the saggy-pants gangsta wear 😂
Lol
I am amazed that you guys found a lot of old coins in that stream there. That old bell is neat. I hope you get to clean out the inside one day. Who knows, it still might ring. Oh Nicola would've taken that rubber ducky. LOL
Haha. Thanks. Yes maybe it will. Maybe I’ll give it to her!!
After a stressful week ,si finds is just what I needed ❤
Thanks Mudlover! 👣🧡
You should do a video showing all your favourite finds from all your hunts and mudlarks. I'd love to see your old coin collection.
Keep the videos coming Si 👍🏼
Yes will do one day. Thanks Pete!
yay!!! this is why we love sundays
Thanks Si and guys.
Part 2 was just as entertaining as one. Nice to see the clear water for you to treasure hunt in. So wish I knew about mudlarking the couple of times when I visited London and Scotland. My daughter said when covid is finished she will travel over with me. I will be looking forward to that. Thanks for sharing Simon have a great week and keep safe. 😊
The guys on Oak Island are still marveling over their discovery of a stick they think dates back to the Templar treasure and a petrified dog turd. LOL Sci-Finds is a LOT more entertaining to watch.
You guys had so much fun! Thanks Si x
Thanks. Yes we love a treasure hunt!
I had a great time! Such fabulous finds! Love the bell, oh and the rubber duck! Til next time, take care and stay safe! See you soon! ~Jen
Thanks Mudlover! 👣🧡
#12 like!! Good Morning Si, can’t wait to watch this new episode!! Thank you!
Wowzers I'm early!! Been needing my mud fix!
I was flying back to Canada in the early 2000's, while we were waiting to board these peoples name kept being called. When they finally showed up (10 minutes before boarding) they came up to the stand next thing we know here comes border patrol and the police. They asked the woman if they had a bullet belt in their suitcase. The one pipes up and says "yeah I have one, but it is not real". The officer very cool replied the x ray machines can not tell that and follows up with that and says "you do realize that we could arrest you for this". She went white as a sheet, ultimately they gave her a warning and banned her from entering the U.K. When all was said and done my flight was delayed for 3 hours because of this ditz. She and her friend had a very uncomfortable flight back, people were pissed!!!!
Thank you for a great show. Love to river walk myself.
Thanks Mudlover! 👣🧡
Always love the many ways you hunt. Keeps it interesting for us !
Yes variety is the spice of life!
Beautiful bell and old coins, but the best part is enjoying the hunt with friends. Thanks Si.
I agree!
I was watching your video wondering what it was you expected to find in this little river and you guys pull out a handful of Georgian coins and a 17th century crotal bell! Amazing! I guess that is why mudlarking is so addictive - you just never know what you are going to find! Thank you Si - your videos are always interesting and entertaining - really enjoy the camaraderie between you and your mates!
Thanks Robin - exactly that it's the unknowing!
Absolutely LOVE crotal bells🥰...and that one is a real gem!!! I don't see many mudlarker's/detector's finding or at least displaying them as finds anymore, and that's a shame 😕. They were part of long past history as well as part of the "backbone" of everyday life. Some have really beautiful and fascinating engraving.
I'm thinking 🤔love tokens on your Georgian bent coins...but maybe that's just the romantic in me🥰😉. Kinda saucy of the girls to cast them aside😕💔.
Always great to see Terry in on your adventures 👍😁.
✌️🕉️from across the pond. Be safe.
Thanks Juliet!! You old romantic you....
I loved your dig at Oak Island. I really enjoy watching it though. This video was top pocket
Love this channel
Give the duck to Nic!
Loved the video, especially
"Calvin Klein" oh so fine! Thumbs up if you get the reference!
It's about time someone got it!
Great little adventure as usual. Love the bell. I've been subscribed to quite a few UK mudlark channels for a while now and I keep coming back to yours and Nic's every week. I'm finding myself keeping my eyes to the ground where ever I roam these days. I'm a treasure hunter at heart! Usually I scan the second hand shops for gold and silver jewelry though. I've had a few amazing finds such a a pair of 14K white gold and diamond studs for $0.99 Canadian and a 14K white gold and diamond butterfly brooch for $2.99 Canadian. If you are ever in Ontario Canada, I'd love to join you on an adventure for a day!
Excellent! You are a true treasure hunter!
I love the finds that show us the everyday life of the past. 😘👍
Si, it seems to me that the best of your current excursions is in 50th e companionship, though I must say the croatal bell and the dolphin button looked good cleaned up. That 1799 George III coin is almost as old as my City, Baltimore,, the place where the British fleet and army were beaten back (1814) during the War of 1812. Glad we eventually became friends.
Wonder what you left behind, unfound in the deep mud ? Bridges always 'give'.
Always love a Crotal bell - that was a beaut. I have a feeling they were oldies which kids threw in for luck! Wish I still had my old Victorians, etc... (Would be tossing 'em anywhere!!) Happy fossicking... 😎🦘🐾👍🤿
Love the clear water!
If you take a 6 or 8 inch diameter pvc pipe and put a cap on the end you can make a great coin scoop. Just drill. Some 3/8 holes in the cap and attach a handle. Makes a great self draining scoop for these kind of conditions
Thanks Allen but it wouldn’t touch the rock hard bed of this river!
Nice find, that bell, especially once you cleaned it up! It was fun seeing the three of you work together on these last two videos. Here’s to more good luck in the muck.
tterbay Thanks dude. You still need to email me mate. Check your Etsy messages 👍🏻
Great job Simon. It was interesting to watch and clean up your finds.
Thank you so much 🐾🧡
Thank you for the video.
Bent coins are given as a love token. The reason that you find them in the water might tell a sad story of disappointed love....
Oh, too early...
Si, if you paint the inside of your bucket flat black you'll get a better view of the bottom.
Good tip!
In America many ancient river crossings where numerous old coins & jewelry found. Old river crossings were also convenient swimming holes and places to quickly cool off on hot days traveling.
My goodness Si there were a million commercials on this episode... Loved the bell! Glad you cleaned it.
Sorry will address
Si, thanks for the Sunday video, always entertaining
hey i like those perspex buckets you made , could you put a how-to up on Patreon or the community page. i could use those for looking in our streams & rivers - what underwater camera did you use to film ? - nice & clear. good work guys
Hi ya. Yes I will do. It’s very easy. Just a go pro 👍🏻
One of these days SIMON, YOU will find a another treasure that will be a huge FIND!
Yes stay tuned!
i think Simon finds tons & tons -😄- of amazing things
clockwork true, but I’m talking antique roadshow or Louvre
Hi the plug is part of the sewage system called a “Windsor trap” they are there to to partly stop smells coming up from the sewers ( before internal sink traps on sinks). When the sewer got blocked the “ plug or bung” could be removed by pulling in the line or chain the end of the plug was attached to and then the sewer could be rodded to clear any blockages.
What fun, an afternoon in the river with the added fun of finding old coins. The crotal bell was a great find. The livery button was also a good find, did you find out what it was to?
Thanks Coni, there was a link to an aristocrat living in Ireland, so not sure if it was the same guy - so didn't put it in
putting the lark into mudlarking
unexpected group of young ladies commenting this morning, Si 🤭 ... a new affiliate?
Cuffs was right about the dolphin, eagle eyes!
Yes more women in the hobby would be good! Yes the dolphin is quite unique
Can't wait to see what you find with all your mates ! really look forward to seeing your videos every Sunday . Thanks for sharing .
Thanks Mudlover! 🐾🧡
I was looking for you great Sunday with Si Glad you had such good luck
It’s funny I thought the magazine was actually one for a promotion of a series of lipsticks in a department store. She would have that on, and she would match you to what she thought you should wear, and she took a Q-tip took some of the lipstick off of the lipstick, and then you yourself would put it on your lips and it was a promotion. That’s what I thought it was.🤷♀️😁
Love when you find coins and other metals and try to figure what timeframe they came from.
Thx for a great video Si and friends!!🌊🐬
Love that little bell , thank you for saving it xx
It was Great seeing it come up!!
That bell is lovely 🥰 Great video, really fun to watch. Nice work and effort on the editing and filming 👍🏻
Its always fun to find old coins, no matter what condition they're in. I love the old crotal bells that you mudlarkers and diggers find. I know they were put on sheep, etc, but I have heard that they were also used sort of like sleigh bells, too. Not sure if this is true.
Possibly Gayle!
😎 🆒️ 😎 🆒️ nice guys ,good luck with searching 👍
Awesome bell n superb coins ........ lovely duck ..... really learned n enjoyed
STAY cool N HAPPY

Thanks dude!!
love the Terry profile ID for George VI - has he got some family secrets 😘 ?
Maybe he has blue blood!!
Since watching the recovery of the stone ball, I have noticed several sat around for decoration at the hospital where I work. Never paid much attention to them to notice before.
Haha no way
It’s crazy how much stuff is in y’alls rivers, I never find anything in ours. 🤷♀️
Si, I have no idea what your coins are made of but when I find corroded things and I am too afraid to take a brush to them I will put them in a glass of water with a denture cleansing fuzzy tablets. I now use it on all of my jars and bottles I can not get a cloth into to clean and it has made things so much easier to bring back to life. I have not ruined anything YET but have you ever tried that to clean items?
Thank you for the wonderful treasure hunt, Thank you for sharing your knowledge and finds with us. I don't feel like we are an ocean apart sometimes and I get so excited for you too lol. Love you Mr. Si
It's Trolls!, They don't like being pelted with coins:)
Actually I liked your suggestions...funny.
Cheers,
Rik
Cheers Rik! 👣🧡
Another super fun adventure Si Finds! Those bent up coins? May be they were mad at the king, eh? I've found 15-20 King George's here in Pa. Of course they were some of the money used here in the colonies. The earliest I've found was 1739. Some of the others were vert thin and possibly fakes. There was a tavern close to the Susquehanna River and in the 1760s you could buy a meal and stay over night for a copper, a half penny. Think things have inflated a bit since then, eh? Those buckets with bottoms or "bum buckets" , create a whole new meaning for bucket list. Getting to the UK for me is a definite on my bum bucket list! I wonder if my coppers would get me a room and a meal there? Kind Thanks to all of you Mates for entertaining DaveyJO here in Pa.! Love, Light, Peace, Treasures and as always, Luck inna Muck!
Cheers DaveyJo yes we find lots of Georgian Coins, not usually in these cheers up conditions. Another mystery
I watch these videos because I enjoy the accents!
Oooh love the bell find! I still think it’s cool enough to wear as a necklace 🙃☺️
Good idea, bit of rust might fall into me tea tho. lol
@@Sifinds Eh, little extra flavor never hurt anybody lol 🤷♀️🤣
Hey there! Nice to see you off the stinky looking thames! I think the coins are love tokens, if kids were throwing them off the bridge I think you would have found more. TFS Hugs!
Awesome finds!👍👍
Amazing bell Si!
Cracking river hunt guys, bell & casing & coinage 👍🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻enjoyed watching thks for sharing 😉

Hiya, what a sweet bell. Can't believe how many coins you all found. 👍🐺

Always love your videos...thanks for sharing the adventure!:)
Great video Si.!!
Cheers Tom!
I almost couldn’t get past the leeches on this film. Once seen...ugh! Lovely bell.
Haha, I’m tempted to let one feed on me. Apparently they just drop off once they are full and your left with a love bite 🐾🧡
I just love watching you all , I was in London the weekend b4 last and the tide was out around about 4 to 5 between London Bridge and tower bridge, I couldn’t help ,myself so I had to have a look down only had trainers on but found some old clay pipes broken and a large bit of pot which I was able to trace was over the moon... but couldn’t do too much with out a license but was fun anyway xxx
Naughty Naughty, lol, all searching requires a permit
I know , that’s why I just picked up what was on the top , 😞 tbh I wasn’t the only one , I just couldn’t help myself 🙄would of loved to have gone in the mud .. was really exiting tho... I’ve slapped the back of my hands ☺️ x
Dave Clark 5! I laughed so hard! Great entertainment and some history that fascinates. Good mates and fun times. Please may I have some more?!
You certainly may!
Fantastic video Simon!
Lovely finds. Coins are lovely
Thanks Ad!
I think 2 of the coins look like they wear run over by cart wheels as I have some I found in old track ways from the 1790s.
A brass ball! But such a nice bell. Some people still put bells on their livestock and the sound is so pretty when they come jogging to the barn.
Thanks Mudlover! 👣🧡
You are most welcome! I really enjoy seeing you find such old treasures. It’s fascinating!
