I'd encourage everyone to watch the documentary, Memphis Heat. Best wrestling doc out there. You really get to see how ahead of it's time Memphis Wrestling was.
Memphis was pretty much the original ECW. Cutting edge music videos started in Memphis and Hardcore wrestling was born from the Fargos and their legendary feuds and it continued with Lawler/Dundee vs Ferris and Latham. Lawler and others talked about how they got kicked out of towns (Jim Cornette said they couldn't come back to Tupelo after the famous brawl and they nearly lost Evansville as a town) and lost TV stations because of the violence and mature angles they ran. Memphis was similar to ECW in that it was the counter culture to every other territory that existed.
+85futureshock Lawler & Bill Dundee both owned furniture stores located in Eville They had a 2 or 3 month fued w/ promos in each others stores breaking shit/etc. It culminated in a furniture store vs furniture match, lol.

Vince owns the Memphis tapes, he used them for a documentary on Jerry Lawler. WWE Network needs to expand their classic wrestling offerings.
rockvilleraven I thought Lawler & Jerry Jarrett owned the Memphis tapes ?
+beeteep60 Lawler owns all rights too Memphis wrestling . WWE paid to use what they have
I thought he only owned 50%
Used to watch Memphis Wrestling every Saturday night on FNN/Score where they showed low budget sports night and weekends and competed against ESPN.
What movie was they talking about?
Girls Gone Dead, it was made in 2012, guess it's just now getting released, which means it's probably bad.
Dustin Grubbs I was thinking that. I downloaded it last year. It did suck. I fast-forwarded all the way through.
Lawler, you can thank God almighty for sparing your life cause he's got a special purpose for you
