This aesthetic reminds me a lot of northern European women's styles (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland). It's like an elevated, more expensive, and classy version of simple basics. Very effortless and casual but still really stylish.
@@likeagenieinabottle1591 Most people who make videos like these rarely show women of color & plus size women, especially when they themselves are not a person of color or plus sized. Don’t go out of your way trying to find something wrong with me showing gratitude for her showcasing beauty in different ways. Just shut the hell up next time.
This is such a great breakdown of the whole clean girl vibe! 👏🏻💖 I like how it promotes a healthy lifestyle and self-care mixed with minimalism. Love this video and love your channel, Delaney! 😊
For me it means feeling glowyyy and glossy, comfortable in your skin from inside to the outside. It’s a natural interpretation of WHO you are. It helps center me to make decisions I would normally make versus keeping up with a character I’m no longer forcing myself to be everyday. ❤I’m grateful this is a trend!! As I struggle with identity issues that have formed from experiencing loss in childhood.
Thank you for the video abs thank you for using picture examples with people of different races and sizes. It helps me so much more when I see someone that looks like me especially for make up and hair. Thanks again ♥️
I love this aesthetic so much it represents me a lot 💕I’m going try to do more content on clean girl makeup/aesthetic because I don’t really see much darkskin girls do it. This video inspired me a lot
I love the clean girl aesthetic and lifestyle aspirations around it, my mood board for the new year is basically all “clean girl” bc it really aligns with my health and fashion goals for the year! ✨ loved this video ❤
I think of it kind of like the OPPOSITE of the “grunge” style/aesthetic. It’s a put together look, showing that you put some “effort” in looking “presentable.” The make up and jewelry is more minimal than grunge would be. The clothes are less distressed and elaborate than grunge would be. Often more basics and “classics” generally lighter neutral colors usually on make up, clothes and accessories. It inches toward preppy in some cases but can also be done with a sweatsuit for example.
this video was so perfectly put together and i absolutely loved everything you had to say about this trend. your mindset is so impactful and valuable !
The moment when you said, I do not take shower as frequent as normal person does ....you took my heart away girl .... in 26 years of my ife ,you are the person from which I can relate to.... love from india
I love it!! The “clean look” seems 90s inspired. This is been my style for the past few yrs. I get my staple pieces from Shein and Abercrombie and Fitch. Neutral colors, dainty jewelry, brow gel and gloss.
I'm in the process of "finding my own style" I'll be 36 this July & still kinda dress like a teen. It's hard to dress different than what I'm used to but this year I'm doing it. I'm going to get rid of all my "teen" clothes & revamp my closet. Any hints on how I should do that? Style tips? Etc. Also I need to add I'm going to be pregnant this year(hopefully) we're doing ivf!
34 here and right there with you lol I've always felt really weird and like I couldn't dress this way. I want to start doing it, but also in rotation with all of the styles I like. Even the teen look :-)
@@acaudill06 right! I know I'm about to be 36 but my mind still thinks I'm 15 lol. I think I'll start with getting a few plain colored tops and go from there. But....I'll most likely save my old clothes just in case lol
I love that you hit all the points, and are inclusive to everybody your such a cool girl. I’m a bald woman (by choice) but feel that I can actually attain this lifestyle/style on a budget. More clean girl energy! ✨☀️ 💓 a cross between street style/clean girl for me!
Omg I haven’t personally seen this look paired with bald hair (or I guess no hair haha) but I feel like it would look so cool!!! And with some street style too? That sounds so fun! I love the idea of shaving my head but I don’t think it’d be practical for me. I get cold easy. And I’m pale and don’t like the feeling of hats, I’d be a redhead in a very different way 😅 But I always admire it on other people!! 💕
Just subscribed! Absolutely love the thoughtful point of view around the clean girl and how it’s internal work for self and then the external beauty part of it follows.
I feel like the clean girl vibe looks good on people with defined sharper features , I have like very rounded features and it doesn’t look good , Hair back and minimal makeup , a mess
Absolutely LOVED how you put emphasis on the empowering aspect of it and just worded it in such a positive, calming and inviting way! I definitely view it the same way - always appreciate all your videos and the amazing inspiration you give us Delaney! Truly feel the world is a better, brighter place with you in it ✨ - your inclusivity, creativity and overall positive energy is everything :)
I am personally very intrigued by techwear/utilitywear, but I feel like it is not very wearable. I love cargo pants, and I love pockets lol. Would you be interessted in making a styling video were you make techwear more wearable/toned down? Or maybe a video using the "extreams" of clothing aesthetics as inspiration, but making it more wearable? (techwear, cottagecore, grunge, dark academia, e-girl, ect.) I think that would be a cool and inspiring video ❤
I used to oil my hair and wear slicked braid as an Indian and I got shamed out of it. The "cool girls" who believed everything western is cool would give me looks. And now this is an aesthetic sigh. I stopped oiling my hair, prayed for less thick hair, put conditioner that didn't suit me, and now I have 1/10th my hair density :)

Hehe so glad this is now en trend. I used to hear "don't you wear make up?" to "oooh I wish I could pull off the clean girl aesthetic as well as you do." Haha I was just lazy ahdgjaha
I don’t know if you already have a video focused on something like this but it would be so fun/helpful/interesting to see how you style different pieces that have patterns/prints.
Well makeup was just clear lipgloss and brows being either razored (arched or just shaped for $5 at a nail shop or hair salon) or brushed into place and held with vaseline. Cheerleaders and few girls wore red or white eyeliner or the top lid, but not all the time. Clothes were very casual but crisp. You may have been wearing Jean's and a tshirt, but both were ironed and looked to be of good quality. No one had a whole ton of costume jewelry that they constantly switched up. You had your everyday basics that you always wore. Hair was usually in a net ponytail or bun, but some girls sometimes wore the tall updos, but most saved that for dances.
