Yes. Caiques are MESSY! Yes they can be very noisy. But their antics makes up for it. Only 1 is really clingy, 2 are semi clingy and the rest are happy if they can periodically check in with us. Like people the have different temperaments and personalities. ❤️
Thanks to your apartment parrot book I think cockatiels are my perfect apartment parrot, but I would love to learn more about them to be sure. Do you mind making a video about the types of people who would do really well with a cockatiel? And the types of people who probably wouldn't enjoy cockatiels?
‘Teils are awesome! They were my first birds and the ones that got me hooked on the bird life. They’re great if you want a very gentle bird or are intimidated by some of the larger parrots. They are more flighty and easily startled though. They don’t like to be hugged or squeezed, but they love head scritches. Theyre goofy and sweet. They’re a really nice balance between softbill birds and the traditional big-beaked parrot. They love being with you but are also capable of amusing themselves with toys in their cages. I definitely recommend getting two to keep each other company though.
Unrelated but there is a great way to tell if a parrot is a male or female without a dna test! You take a key ring and tie it to the end of a string of dental floss and hang it over the parrots head. If the key ring moves back and forth, it’s a male and if it moves in a circular motion, it’s a female. It’s because of the parrot’s magnetic field :) It works on humans too so the parrot has to be a bit of a distance from the person while doing this so the key ring doesn’t pick up on the persons magnetic field and just picks up on the bird’s
Waow! I'm surprised to hear that Pionus parrots are so expensive in the States. I live in Germany and you can find blue headed, bronze winged and white capped for round about 500€. Maximilian pionus sometimes for 300 bugs😮
@@tomcoon9038 We have many breeders around the country. The "problem" with pionus parrots is that they are very sensitive for lung problems caused by mold. They can live with that for a long time but can die very fast in stressfull situations. That is the reason pionus parrots in my country are mostly kept by breeders in in/outdoor aviaries. By the way…..pionus parrots are very different when kept in pairs or groups, more active and noisy🙉 Green cheek conures are a perfect….much more robust choice👍🏻 Sorry for my english🤦🏻♂️🙂
@@ParrotBliss Oh don't get me wrong! I love my lil Monkey! She's a sweetheart! Over the biting stage. Just a tad clingy. But I love her! But I started this journey looking for a Pionus.
My cockatiels are just about as needy as I can handle 😂. Velcro birds, they want to be physically attached to my person 80% of the time. It’s hard to get stuff done around the house. They’re very sweet though , so it’s a good balance. I actually really like the more independent Australian species, they’re more my style than conures, Amazons, macaws etc. I think bourkes should be on your list too, I recently got a couple they’re just the most charming little creatures in existence; I’m totally in love with them (don’t tell my ‘teils though!).
@@ParrotBliss 3 females and 2 males. I have to keep them separate from each other. Only one is completely friendly. I got them all as adults as rescues.
I have a tame male and he’s not that loud at all. He’ll call now and then, but overall I consider him low-level. I think your issue is you have an untamed flock that is separated from each other, which would exacerbate the noise.
Rosie swaying back and forth as if to say "hey everybody"!
I love when she does this, it’s like she’s dancing!
Lol the bird is on a mission...🥢🦜
Oh yeah!
Now you know Chinese restaurants to bring home chopsticks for bird toys!
I always do! Sometimes my Parrotlets love them!
@ParrotBliss Really? That would be interesting to watch! Chopstick bigger than bird, probably weigh atleast half the bird?
@@jojo1828v well, they can use this as a Perch. They’re perfect for their feet. So they don’t pick them up, but the perch on them.
@ParrotBliss ok that makes more sense. They would be perfect for their feet.
Buenos tip
Gracias, Yesid!
And wow I didn’t know ringnecks aren’t messy!
Not compared to soma lot of other species-

So weird, swear I commented! Yes, I think their personalities are so jovial and happy! Makes the mess ok!
Chopstick lover❤
The bird says hey I like the stick in your hair perfect for me to nibble it doesn't look nice in ur hair anyway so it's my play thing.😂😂😂
Yeap, they love taking the sticks!

Will do! Remind me if I forget- you can’t have allergies though, they have dust instead of oil. Fantastic birds!
@@ParrotBliss Hooray! I will!! I don't have any dust allergies that I'm aware od. I'm allergic to cats, but not dogs

Interesting, I’ll have to try!
Please, give me advice!
I have two green chick conures and want thrird bird.
Greetings from Serbia!!!
Get 2 of another species or 2 more Green-ckeek Conures so that everyone has a friend :) What kind of parrot are you thinking aobut getting?
@@ParrotBliss Eclectus, African grey or sun conure...I'm not sure. Thank you for your time and help!
