    I'm surprised that drone just didn't keep flying away.

    Others in the comments asked about flying here. Hart plaza and the ren center appear to be in controlled airspace because of city airport. It's controlled from the surface to 3,100 feet and drone use is not allowed without clearance from air traffic control. How you obtain this clearance depends on if you are flying under part 107 or as a hobby.

    • @classical21
      @classical21 8 лет назад

      Most of this video was recorded from Hart Plaza, the opening 10 seconds was recorded from the top of the MGM parking deck. There are plenty places to safely fly in the city of Detroit as long as you're not too close to Coleman Young airport.
      In my other drone video of Detroit, (ruclips.net/video/5xxB9HBHswA/видео.html), I flew from the top of the Cobo parking deck, the Train Station, the top of the Ren Cen parking garage, Belle Isle and across the street from the new Red Wings stadium.
      As long as you stay away from the air traffic at Coleman Young, which isn't much, you'll be just fine!

    Hey all I'm gonna say is Detroit/Michigan was originally CANADIAN! the whole state was part of NEW FRANCE/CANADA founded by the FRENCH, then taken over by the BRITISH. then ONLY after the American revolution for independence was our beautiful state GIVEN to the damn americans. that's why HALF of Detroit(Windsor) remains Canadian. why I'm bringing this up is because I believe its TIME for Michigan to SUCCEDE from the united states and REJOIN CANADA! historically, geographlly, and culturally it makes 100% SENSE! also look at Michigan under American rule/government. the state has been FULLY NEGLECTED and is SUFFERING EXTREMELY economically, politically, and security wise. crime is ABUNDANT, cities are BANKRUPT, and the people are very DIVIDED/SEGREGATED. Its a complete EMBARRASEMENT! SOOOOOOO------
    --------COME BACK HOME MICHIGAN! WE LOVE YOU! ITS TIME!;)
    sincerely yours, CANADA:)
    from a DUAL CITIZEN;)

    Nice video, unfortunately the flights over traffic and pedestrians is illegal under CFR Part 107 without a waiver from the FAA. Also if the pilot was not commercially Part 107 certified and acting as a hobbyist there are too many heliports in this area to fly legally. The FAA has a big hurdle to inform the public on sUAS flights, but they can fine pilots/business up to $27,500 per incident, and if determined criminal $250,000 and 3 years jail. Not trying to cause fear, just informing the pilots that the FAA is not taking this lightly. Safe flying everyone!
