- It's not always easy to catch bass during the transition! Come along as Tim heads out on a lake he hasn't been to in a while. He starts with total confidence but almost immediately finds himself pulling out finesse gear to get bass to bite. The Fall Transition can be really difficult until you locate groups of fish, but it's still worth doing because the hard work now sets you up for awesome Fall bass fishing!
Tim put in some serious work today! What started as big baits and topwater ended with a dropshot and Karashi. It doesn't matter what they're eating, as long as you adapt and figure out how to catch them. The key to these tough days is continuing to search. Bass are on the move and when you locate them, you can follow them through the entire Fall. If you don't locate them now, you'll be struggling later as well, even though the bite is wide open. Put in your time, find the fish, and enjoy it in the months to come!
Below you'll find links to the exact baits and gear Tim used throughout the video. We've included the exact bait colors, rigging components, etc. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Got to pay our dues ~ Early this week I had A Day - Yesterday, same lake, not so much. These trips are what make the banner days so special. Stay Safe.
I think fast forwarding through dry stretches is so much better than cutting. Not only are you keeping it realistic and transparent. But it's also very beneficial to see how you're working the bank and covering water at what pace. Also good for casuals confidence like mine to see people experiencing the same struggles.
Thanks for showing the tuff one Tim,can't believe that gold label held up.Great line.
Grinder days are most of mine. It builds character
Got a TN70 this week and took it out. Absolutely blasted some fish on it hopping it. Even though it was the bright red craw color they were hammering it. Definitely saw the light on this technique.
Really nice job landing that fish after it hung you up in the trees. That was impressive to see.
Stunning video, Timm. The only issue for me is that i will only be able to afford the Curado and nothing more as a teaching living in South Africa. G. Loomis is WAY above what we can afford along with some of the others here. Will have to wait for my pension in 9 years time to buy it but in the meantime still loving my cheaper slx, Shimano Calisto, Banax Bloodline and cheaper Shimano rods. Few spinning combos from Daiwa and 13 fishing, rately used. Great channel!!
loving the fishing content!!
good grinder vid, Tim. As always thanks for sharing!
Your day started out just like mine last week. Had to go to the drop shot which turned it into a dink fest in 20 feet of water.
Are you stationary or am I moving? This camera angle is a trip.
Yes sir can relate allll too well to this 1 , I swear the more of a dry spell you go through the bigger the reward when you get that day you just crrrrush em ( was very important video good to see even the best struggle jus like me an relize those days are apart of it all )
It always seems to be the case when you find a group of spots you gotta weed through them
13:53 sure got yourself in a jam..quite literally. You should try back straight off so your boat is straight with the tree- only back right off, and open your spool. All you’re doing is tightening the line around multiple limbs. The fish probably can’t come out because of the tightness of the line. Back off- let your spool free, wait… they’re smart, if you back off they’ll come out and you like will be free to hover up around the. Ranches it’s twisted around and you have a better chance to pull her out.
Trust me we all can relate to the grinder days
I think that's the best thing about my mega Bass x bites is that I can almost tell what size of fish is Whenever I'm getting a bite it's amazing with filling. Is that I can almost tell what size of fish is? Whenever I'm getting a bite it's amazing the feeling I can actually fill my lure hit the water when I cast
Lot more patient then I am. 😂. I want to cut my line a long time ago.
Childersburg Bass Association thank you tactical bassin
I thought he should have said “Tactical difficulties “ 😂
I was catching them off secondary points with a dropshot 2.3 keitech nose hooked.
If I wanted to try for a bigger fish would you throw bare swimbait or maybe underspin?
"What a cluster" he says 😂 I just thought that was funny. Never give up
Suspended fish agt
Suspended fish at 25 to 30 feet in deeper water seem inactive. Maybe they will bite when water cools. Using dropshot with gulp minnow and hover minnows. No bites. Fish at 10 to 15 feet on humps not suspended active. Water temp 69 degrees. Any ideas anyone
