This is proper self defence. I taught this a long time ago trying to put different fighting styles together. I did used to stress that it must only be used as a last resort. Not to be used in a drunken brawl as this sort of defence can maim or even kill and we all know that brawls are usually over very little ie you made a pass at my girl etc.

Ther are many similarities To JKD (my core curriculum-under Soke David Hinkle-under Prof. Gary Dill) .. and some wing chun and Krav Maga.. very VERY similar to us, I like it very much. Love the realistic EXPLOSIVE techniques. I personally feel they are sorely lacking in MOST of today's styles and systems.. please do NOT misunderstand this as a criticism of other systems. It is merely a statement . I disrespect no one. As I believe that there is something useful to be gleaned from pretty much every style.

You got some good realistic self defense moves here. Nice work and good teacher. Nice drills especially for people who dont have any idea of how dirty a street fight can get. There is no referee in a street fight lol.. 9 times out of 10 no one wants to get involved to stop the fight and many people have been stomped to death..kicked in while on the ground. Like he said most fights are never one on one. I like what he said about practicing with full agression especially for non violent people. Some people freeze in serious situations and some dont ...good video.

    • @schoolofselfprotection

Best is not be there!! So get him off..or depending on low or midline: sprawl. I personally would avoid as much as I can to go the the ground. Because of the environment and the fact that weapons and multiples almost always come into play. But sometimes the sprawl is the only option..

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. A pencil is always good to have with you. Especially with a notebook on the side ;-) you have to drill in training to get the pencil out. In fight pencil access. Ofcourse for the worst case scenario. But a pencil can be used very effectively. For example in a mofo his eyeball.

Did you have trained with the greate Lee Morrison? He's also impressively good . Until I saw your videos, he was the one who was complete with everything that has to do with dealing with violence. I am familiar with the violence , I served in a military police forces 3 years after that a prison guard for 22 years and also as a doorman in nightclubs. I'm going to spread your videos to my colleagues. In Sweden, many people don't really seem to understand what works in surprise assaults and don't understand the difference between martial arts and violence.
What I wrote before meant that students should also improve on their own initiative what they learn in training if the opportunity is available in their spare time . You move and hit like a competing fighter. A nasty fast and powerful one, too. I've won most of the fights I've involuntarily gotten becose of my jobb into against all kinds of opponents, but with you I would NOT want to fight.🙂 I mean it.
