As a guy that ten years ago was lugging around 2 cameras, 5 lenses, tripod, filters, etc...now its just me, my P950 n a carbon fiber Manfrotto n im good to go for anything from moonshots to macros! Loving it!
I just revisited this video; probably my favorite/best demo of the P950. And your pics, across the board, are of much sharper and high quality than many other "presenters". Thank you once more. Now to get my hands on one!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I began with the P900 what a great camera, 4 years later the P950 is my next step, already got it and waiting for it. Greetings from San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.
The new viewfinder is an enormous improvement - not just sharper, but brighter. You don't miss having a hood, like you do with the P900. With a high-end, fast SD card, it's noticeably quicker as well.
Just ordered the p950. Never touched a camera in my life before. But like the nature i would love to capture it. After watching alot of revieuws the p950 comes out the best for all the things i would like to capture. Also the moon sounds interesting.
A truly impressive presentation of the Nikon P950. I've already watched a few videos about this camera, where it was presented very poorly and full format and telephoto lenses were repeatedly recommended. After a long research, I then found two photographers here on RUclips who got everything out of this camera and showed really impressive photos. I take photos with a DSLM and telephoto lens myself, but I also have a Lumix FZ300 that I like to use when I'm too lazy to take my DSLM with me. Even with the Lumix FZ300, you can take really nice photos in manual mode. What else would interest me, in which country is this beautiful port and I'll leave a subscription here, I'm looking forward to more.
How does it compare to the Panasonic FZ2000? Which seems to be the bridge camera of choice of all the comparison tests online. (Excluding the Sony at £1500.)
Hello, RAW is not supported in the Moon, Bird and scenes modes. While in these modes quality is set to Fine JPEG. RAW can be set in Auto, Program, Shutter/Aperture priority and Manual. There is a manual Exposure preview but this only works while in manual mode.
@@jessops so using manual mode, you should be able to get even better images of the moon than the programmed moon mode. But the sensor in the camera is incredibly small compared to one in a dSLR or mirrorless camera.
I also do have a P1000 , needless to say she is larger & more curvaceous of the two stunningly attractive teenaged sisters ( the other one being P950 ) from the NIKON COOLPIX family , it has to be confessed that boys will be boys & attractive gadgets always have a sway on them like the mythical Sirens of the high seas !
Too many people purchasing DSLR's and " a ton of glass" ( which is hardly ever used) , when all they need is something like the P950 . With budget airlines forever reducing how much ( luggage ) one can travel with for free , the P 950 makes a lot of sense . When folk ask me which camera to recommend on seeing my brace of Nikon DSLR's , most times , I will recommend this camera ( the P 950 )( or in the past , its predecessor )
They ain't weather or dust sealed, Any bridge camera without that sealing Will get dust in the lens after a few months of outdoor use, That big lens sucks in dust and pollen every time you retract the lens like a bellow, Zoom the lens out and shine a torch into the lens you'll see it 👍
I had a canon set up for birding but due to shoulder injury was unable to carry the weight involved. I talked to different people and read lots of reviews and luckily I had chance to use one free for a month. I can honestly say I would now ever go back to lugging heavy camera setups. Pictures are fantastic and pin sharp. There are no reasons as far as I can see why you should not buy this camera.
Hi ... Trying to take a photo with my p950 the other day at a gig and I couldn't get a decent shot ....I kept seeing green boxes moving around like it was doing something.... And then it took a pic but they come out blurry 🤷 and ideas
I was thinking of getting Nikon 5z or 6z but I already have Nikon p950 do I need another camera because I’m thinking it does what they do , what do you 🤔 think
Great video, thanks. What is the viewfinder like for people wearing glasses please. Can the focus in the finder be adapted. I prefer viewfinder to LCD screen when videoing aircraft in bright sun. I recently returned a camcorder because the viewfinder was useless. Thanks in advance.
That’s fabulous I love your work I have one too ,thankyou can you please do a shot with blurred background and a focused object i would love to know how you dothat
Love this camera! Incredible zoom that’s beyond fun, and great quality! Went to Yellowstone National Park and was able to photograph a Bald Eagle from over a mile away. See video here ruclips.net/video/3HS6C3qX4_c/видео.html Photographed tons of more wildlife. Would have needed a much more expensive camera with lots of attachments to be able to take a similar photos and videos. The P950 is fun to play around with. I would absolutely recommend spending the money on one. Seriously, it’s really, really fun.
LightningAssault.com - I’ve had my P1000 for a couple of day now...I’m in love with that zoom. But skies have been completely cloud covered for days. I’ve got my calendar set for the next full moon though.
The P1000 goes down to F8 at 3000mm and this is still useful in bright light but in dull light F8 isn’t so good. The P900 and the P950 go to 2000mm optical zoom at F6.5 from memory so that’s actually better. Of course, you can always over-compensate with the exposure and blaa blaa but then you lose the instant programming of the device. Having said this, if I ever saw the P1000 on special at a camera store or Amazon I’d probably get it because it is not often that you can buy a camera and telescope in one package.
I couldn't imagine carrying around a camera this expensive and heavy without a wrist or neck strap.. Excellent quick overview, I'm still learning mine. 2 weeks with it so far and I feel like I'll never completely figure it out.
@@kristeharrison5140 I still enjoy it. I will say it's disappointing in low light conditions but a lot of cameras have that shortfall. I typically use bird mode with great results, I haven't played around with manual much but it does work really well. A bit clunky to change some of the settings because it's not touch screen but if you don't have to quickly adjust it's fine. The lens is insane. I've gotten perfectly clear photos of birds from hundreds of yards away. I will say, all in all, if you're looking for a point and shoot with a very impressive DSLR style lens, this camera is a good idea. It's definitely a cheaper option than a DSLR or mirrorless body and lens if you're looking for the equivalent lens power. Side note, I will say mine has frozen up on me at least half a dozen times where I'll have to pull the battery to shut it off. Not a very common occurrence but it has happened, luckily I haven't missed a good shot because of it. I'd say once out of every 5000 or so photos I've taken so not that big of a deal to me.
