There's nothing like that first walk after a snow, when the snow is pristine and all the sounds are muted, other than the crunch of the snow underfoot.
I lived in Canada 4 a while and this video reminded me of what it was like walking on snow in the middle of the night. Such a unique thing ! Gracias from Mexico City !
I grew up in Rogers City Michigan, half of the people are from Scotland. Its right on Lake Huron . My father and his whole family are Scottish. My Mother and her family moved from the Baltic.
I absolutely loved seeing this live. However, the start of the walk outside of Edinburgh makes me think of the forest the children in C.S. Lewis Narnia series with that lamppost.
The BEAMING smile on your face(like a kid in a candy shop), the crunch of the snow under your feet, the ‘hat’ on Greyfrier’s Bobby(sp?), the tree-lined lane with the single lamppost(pretty much identical to ‘The Witch, The Lion and The Wardrobe’!), the snow covered beach, sledding downhill with the ‘camera’ in ‘360°’ mode(absolutely awesome!) AND the spectacular drone footage. Superb vlog! ❤️❤️❤️
My ancestors are from Scotland and I have to admit it is an absolutely beautiful place and somewhere I hope to go to before my time comes to an end. One of the things that's on my bucket list if not my sister will go for me. Thank you Sean you are fabulous 💜
Thanks so much for the excellent snow video. I'm from South Africa and we never ever see snow through the year. I just love the witness of your winters. I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful city. Please don't stop making them
The buildings are amazing, looks like a Dickens movie. Being from New York, we get snow often in the winter and it's always beautiful especially on the trees but we don't have buildings like Edinburgh. To think how old they are is awesome. To us old is a hundred or maybe even two hundred years old. My grandmother was Scottish and when my mom was two, her family moved to America from Scotland. We're all tea drinkers !
I love Edinburgh it's a unique place, the old town between the castle down to Holyrood is steep either side with buildings that are 7 or 8 storeys high but built into the side of the hill, lots of underground catacombs. Then there's the new town north of the centre which is actually over 200 years old and big wide Georgian streets. To the south of the city is lovely residential streets and parks, and further out to the north is Leith and the Firth of Forth with the fantastic bridges. Very touristy on the royal mile but a great place to wander, always bagpipes playing, people touting for ghost tours, street performers..then of course the Edinburgh festival which is amazing. To nitpick though, Dickins would be set in London, similar but different :). Check out some great Edinburgh films - Restless Natives, Shallow Grave and of course Trainspotting.
Hi Shaun, I really enjoy your videos. My name is Dave Wallace, I live in Thompsons Station, TN 30 miles south of Nashville. I long to visit Scotland, and I’m grateful for people like you who take us on a “tour” of their homeland. My wife and I were planning to celebrate our 20 years together in Scotland, but Covid lockdowns shuttered that. I just want to thank you for sharing this with us . God bless you...
Thank you so much for the beautiful pictures of the snow falling ! I am a citizen of the South East part of Georgia , USA ! Hot and humid a lot, but now cool , with scattered 30 degree Fahrenheit nights. Thanks for sharing !
I also enjoy driving in the snow- you have to slow down and take it easy, which is nice. I loved the path with the snow-covered branches coming out to the side- gorgeous. And the sled skidding along the top of the planet was a kick! Ride-em cowboy! All great! Thanks!
I’ve been planning a trip to Scotland and England to look up relatives, which of course covid has delayed but every time I see one of your amazing videos, my heart literally SINGS WITH ANTICIPATION 😍😍😍 thank you, Shaun!!
Shaun, this was just beautiful. Looks like the snows we get in the North Carolina mountains. It's been 40 years since I was in Scotland, and your videos make me want to go back.
Thank you Pip, so glad you liked it. I was in North Carolina a couple of years ago and I can’t imagine how beautiful it must be in snow. Hope you can visit us again 😊
Craigmillar Castle looks amazing covered in snow! ❄ and the evening walk reminded me of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe: C.S. Lewis Thank you for the outing Shaun - love from snowy & chilly Denmark 🥶❄💙

Oh I love seeing this! Thank you so much for that walk around snowy Edinburgh. Wish I could be there meself... Sledding on Craigmillar Castle hill? Throwing snow balls on the beach of Portobello in Musselburgh? Would love to join you there! I have been in Edinburgh in 2018 and 2019. Therefore I easily recognized most places before you said anything about them. I had to cancel my Isle of Iona trip on Easter 2020 due to the pandemic. But I will come back as soon as travelling is possible again. Once Scotland always Scotland. Please stay safe and take care.
LOVE YOU!!!! My husband is from Forfar. We watched u unbox a box from Kentucky. What a wonderful way to meet people! Loved it!! I was born in NY and that's where we met. We've moved cross country, Houston ,TX then Silverthorne ,CO then Medford ,OR. He was in the British military and has traveled the world. Me not so much. You are an INSPIRATION! Have you been offered a show ?!?!
How beautiful!! Thank you Shaun!! It reminds me of North Carolina's low land areas but the mountains have been getting snow like crazy and skiing is good up there where you were a couple of years ago!!
Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful, Shaun! It's currently 75°F/54°C here in Kerrville, Texas. Loved the sled ride. God bless you and Teka. 🇺🇲🏴🇺🇲
How lovely to see the snow in Edinburgh, a rare sight, normally when it’s snowing in Edinburgh the roads and pavements are just all horribly slushy due to all the grit the council spreads !!! I’ve never seen Edinburgh so quiet and peaceful like that in my life !!!!!
Down south east of Uk we had very little but did make the use of it my dog loved it too.. for me the snow has a peacefulness that just washes my head clean ❤️🐾
This video is spectacular! The cityscape in the peaceful night time snow looks so beautiful! The walk that you went on in the forest type area looked like a picture postcard, with the snow resting on the branches of the trees, the soil covered in a blanket of snow. The sled ride looked like fun! And the drone footage was brilliant too. Thanks for sharing the video with us!!👍👍👍
Snow is beautiful to watch come down. It’s the afteraffects, right. Plowing, driving, etc. We will be getting a n’easter here starting tomorrow thru Wednesday. It will be quite the storm again. Enjoy your drive there. About a foot of snow is expected here. Take care and always fun to watch your vlogs, Shaun🤗
Aww I love this! I studied in Edinburgh for a few years (since moved back to dear Glasgae) but I miss Edinburgh so much what with lockdown, so this video made me so happy - thank you for sharing Shaun!

Love the Scots.
Unbelievably beautiful! Someday I’ll visit. I wanted to suggest that you try and visit Washington state but come in the summer. It’s pretty amazing.
There's nothing like that first walk after a snow, when the snow is pristine and all the sounds are muted, other than the crunch of the snow underfoot.
The lampost shot - looks like Narnia.... magical ❄️✨✨
I lived in Canada 4 a while and this video reminded me of what it was like walking on snow in the middle of the night. Such a unique thing ! Gracias from Mexico City !
