Rest in peace Kazuhara Susumu. Thank you for performing ashita no joe's most iconic OST! For the longest time I thought that it was Teruhiko Aoi (Joe's voice actor) who did the whistle since as far as I know, he did every other whistle in the series. But considering how this whistle specifically has bgm with it and it was released as one of the tracks in the music collection, I was curious to see if it actually was Teruhiko Aoi or someone else. And now we know.
Rest in peace. And have you ever noticed that all the whistles are whistles versions of some Ashita no Joe OST's? This anime is a masterpiece. Everyone who helped in the creation of this work of art is a legend.
@@johnxina7496 I looked up whistling tutorials, at first you'll only hear air coming out but eventually, you'll hear a peep and get better at it. From there just practice it a lot, do it while you're chilling or doing something.
Los primeros segundos del anime son espectaculares con este magnífico silbido, te transmite muchas cosas. En ROCKY me pareció curioso que casi al inicio, el protagonista igual aparece caminando en la calle, solo y silbando...
Thank you for sharing this with us, Joe's Whistle is such a melancholic yet beautiful track. I wish Akira Okazawa and Masahiro Itami a long and healthy life. As for Susumu Kazuhara, may the legend rest in peace!
Amazing work finding out all of this information. I finished season 2 of Ashita No Joe recently and it got me pretty emotional. I'm a musician myself (ive been playing keys for awhile now) and ive decided to work on a tribute sorta album for the series (i own 1970s and 1980s equipment, Rhodes pianos, synthesizers, trumpets, guitars etc) Anyhow im glad that Itami and Okazawa are still active, but RIP Kazuhara.
When watching the last episode of Ashita No Joe 2 When the last scene came, I cut out the song that was playing for his death and put this on in its place to watch it through. God, I think that was even more chilling! I like both whistle themes, I like the whistle theme from the first anime more than I did from the second anime.
Hi thx a lot for making this video and gayhering this valuable information.. could you pls make a research on the singer Takeshi obo the guy who sang the opening of Ashita no Joe 2? That would be much appreciated thank u!!
I've tried before but there is like no info about him sadly outside of the AnJ stuff. It's not even known if he's still alive or not, his wikipedia even states that ''it's believed that he died in the early 2000's'' :(
@Joe__Yabuki exactly! Was trying to search for some information, even in Japan. Sadly, when I asked, we couldn't get any information. I recently found a song that he sang for the opening of part 1 somewhere in 81. I will try to link you the link of the song
ofc he was a trumpeter. I can barely whistle like him. Now I never had to whistle in my life, so that may be a thing alongside not being musician. But now I can make quite nice sounds. Didn't think I could have so much fun whistling.
sabes dónde puedo encontrar información sobre el?? yo también pensaba que era Teruhico Aoi quien silbaba , pero ahora que se que es otra persona quisiera saber sobre el.....
Do you know where I could potentially search the instrumental for midnight blues? Maybe in some japanese site? Some spanish guy found it and made a cover but he doesnt remember where he got it from. I also found a karaoke site from japan that has it but it only has videos of people karaokeing and I'm

Same, thought it was Joe doing all the whistling. I just found out about this guy. Wow. May he rest in peace. The more you know.
The ashita no joe whistle is the saddest melody known to man

Did he do the season 2 whistle as well?
I can't find any information about it. But I doubt it considering the studio/staff changes and decade gap between the two seasons.
