Something I noticed is that the POV character changes - it's most obvious when they exit the nether, the one who made the portal goes through first, and _he's_ the POV character afterwards, because he also comes out of the portal first.
Meaning they're both maniacs with similar powers, rather than one maniac and their tag-along

Whatever mod or animation software he's using hasn't updated the textures yet.

I like how the POV character isn't even confused anymore, as in no "WHAT", "HOW", "BRUH" or anything. He's just rolling with whatever his buddy and these wacky mods throw at him.

It took me a solid couple videos before I realized
The reason your videos feel like "classic" (~1.9 era) minecraft
Is because it for the most part IS.
There's the old nether, old villages, a lower render distance, and even the old lighting.
Honestly some great attention to detail.
And I think he might use programmer art for some of the newer parts with stuff like the deep dark, allays, and frogs, but I'm not so sure.

i dont think it is even possible even with a TAS to make a portal that fast because the server-side of minecraft runs at 20 ticks per second maximum.

The first crazy steve has lots of different items like the water bucket but the player doesnt hold anything in their hotbar up until the stronghold with a piece of cobblestone. The player also always takes a spectator role while the other steve always seems to jump around and do weird shit. An explanation to the portal scene as the other dude pointed out was loading time.
