I showed a text image in the video stating they there is a 16gb RAM version available, this is not correct and a mistake in the Mele marketing material.
Thank you so much for the review of the MeLE PCG02 Pro PC Stick! Your video provided a great overview, especially highlighting its compact and slim design along with its multiple ports. It’s worth mentioning that the PCG02 Pro is fanless, making it ideal for precision tasks like astrophotography. Its lightweight and portable design makes it perfect for outdoor use. Of course, it’s also great for everyday office tasks and entertainment. Thanks again for your support!
Thanks for the comment, yes I did mention that it was fanless, near the beginning of the video and that the heat was dissipated through the case…thanks again 👍🏻
Nice review Stewart. I thought my Intel Nuc was a small PC but it seems to more of a brick compared to these super slim Mele computers. CS
Thank you.
Nice review Stewart! I love the MeLe products, I run the Q3 hard and it doesn’t flinch. I’ve been reading up on allsky, kind of interested in doing one as a project build.
Cheers!
Doug
Thanks Doug, ideal for out uses, and perfect for an AllSky set up which I am currently using it for…👍🏻
Nice review Stuart (or is it Stewart?) I really like the MeLE Pc's. I run one of the rigs in my Observatory with a Quieter2 and a mobile rig with a Quieter 3. Both have been brilliant and worked perfectly for this hobby. The Quieter 2 has been running for 2 years now. Like you I don't exclusively use ZWO gear so the ASIAIR is not a good option. If I ever need to replace one or get yet another !! I will definitely look at this. Clear skies
@@Astrobloke thanks Glenn, yea it’s Stewart, but no worries.
Yes superb mini PC’s they are practically throw away items now with no serviceable parts, I have 3 of them and use the Overclock 4 on my main set up
Clear skies mate 👍
@@Astro_Shed I was not sure about the overclock as not only being quite a bit larger it’s not fanless. I’ve known quite a few NUC users have problems after a year or so with moisture ingress. Have you found it ok? You could always treat the circuit board with conformal coating to give it protection from damp as an option.
@@Astrobloke mine had always been good, although when not in use in the obsy I put a loose cover over my whole rig with a small 25 watt heater under.
But nit let me down in 2.5 years, I have the Overclock 3 then the Overclock 4, and before that an Intel i3 NUC..👍🏻
Yes....I have 3 Mele 4C's with 16GB and they are great... But this smaller factor would have been a good option.
I have sent a message to my contact at Mele, and he has told me that they could not fit a 16gb memory module on the board as not enough space, so they don’t plan on making a 16gb version ☹ even through there marketing material says there is one, apparently that is a printing error..shame really..
Nice review Stuart just a pity it cannot create it's own wifi so you can connect via a phone using a remote desktop app so it can be used out in the field, I do have the 3C in the observatory but use Google remote to connect to it which works but isn't ideal. I'm still waiting for the Touptek Astro station to be delivered as that's been on order since July!!
Clear skies
Thanks Tich, I thought Cuiv did a video on creating a Wi-Fi hotspot on these mini PC’s, there must be a way to do it I’m sure…
Clear skies mate..👍🏻
I just use a mini router , powered via usb . It works like a charm.
@@Astro_Shed Yeah followed a couple of Cuivs videos but it kinda started going way over my head in the end .
@@dumpydalekobservatory yes, I know what you mean, if I remember correctly it did get a bit complicated….😮
No I can buy a 128Gig 8 gig tv box with a RISC GPU for $70 toss linux on it and run circles around that.
Thanks for the comment, that sounds good, all the best…👍🏻
Unfortunately, 8gb is just not good enough for my use case...😢
@@ctortolini thanks for the comment , that’s a shame, but there are other models with up to 32gb RAM 👍
