Always come back for Kare Kano. The character development, composition, and music are soo good! Hideaki Anno is ridiculously talented. I listened to the album a lot in high school when I was a bit depressed. It's so nostalgic.
The work of shiro sagisu is wonderful, listen his work in kimagure orange roas, for me is in the same level or above his composition in this beautiful series

I first watched this anime when I was 13, and I was never so captivated by an anime this much before. The dark character development up against the mundane school setting that all of us are so familiar with caught me off guard and made me obsessed. The emotions that are depicted are just so raw and real…loneliness, anxiety, insecurities, unresolved trauma…each little detail and each dialogue…each scene and interaction between arima and miyazawa make up the entire experience. But what’s truly magical about this is the soundtrack. I recently rewatched this anime and realized that I couldn’t feel any of the emotions I felt the first time watching. I then stumbled across this soundtrack and the songs brought me right back to memories of the spring that I watched this…the loneliness and longing that I felt as an adolescent and the melancholic warmth of arima and miyazawa‘s encounter. This music sink into my days and merge seamlessly with it…as if it’s waiting with me…for an unknown resolution, maybe a person, who could truly understand.
The soundtrack perfectly matched both the pure and mature tone of the manga.. The rearrangements made years later for the eva rebuild films would go well with the rest of the story if it were ever animated T T

The manga is terrible outside of what the anime covered. It turned into a terrible soap opera losing sight of what originally made it great. Not to mention its plagued with weird stuff. R*pe, pedophilia (x2), and the main couples daughter literally ends up dating their high school friend However i hold the anime is really high regards. The mangakas writing is great in what the anime covered i must give her that, adding onto that annos great vision and sagisus great soundtrack they created a great show

Same Yukino is spectacular and iconic, she created a character copied ao so so so so so so many times.....Manga super underrated,for me the best shojo manga!
It is so loved an anime and because being so original: the concepts , the music choice etc are many times copied. This is seen as the key rom com anime canon. BUT ..But not as high as other because of just (really 6 good episodes). Having the music and anime / story telling soo perfect doesn't happen to often. I get nostalgic with this rom com even not knowing I had those sentiments.
